OK, how do you get a list of people who have put you on Ignore?

I don't think I've done it to a single DUer no matter how heated the conversation, but I'm sure some have done it to me...just curious!

... I'm pretty sure if you try to PM someone who has you on ignore, you'll get a funky error message that says you're trying to PM yourself and it won't work.

8. There are different kinds of ignore.

There's: Block Private Messages, Ignore Threads, and Ignore Replies. There is also (possibly for a limited time only) Block Replies To Me.

Those are all independent of each other.

For example, a DUer might be blocking private message from you so that if you want to say something to that DUer then you won't be able to do it privately. The same DUer might not be ignoring anything that you post on the board.

5. Why bother?

I haven't announced any of my ignores, most of whom are no longer with us. I wouldn't think of it. Occasionally I see "ignored" answering one of my posts, and I'm just grateful I won't be offended by the answer because people I do ignore go out of their ways to offend.

I figure I've got quite a few folks ignoring me. That's OK, too. Some people can't tell the difference between disagreement or criticism and insults. Their problem, not mine.

I certainly don't want to start an ignore war. That's a great way to ruin the site.

7. Just out of curiousity, why are you worried about it? I don't care.

And I don't exactly know why anyone else would either. We go through our lives avoiding people who we don't want to talk to and who don't want to talk to us. And some people here are pretty thin-skinned. (But there are some you could call a truckload of mother f**kers and they wouldn't block you out.)

I see so much angst about this. I don't really understand it.
