Methinks FOX News doth protest too much
Reported by Chrish - January 21, 2007 -

There's a renewed effort over at FOX News to mislabel the rest of the corporate media "left" and themselves as "fair and balanced." As we have proven over 8,000 times, FOX leans to the right - waaaay to the right, so of course everything else looks left from where they sit. When will they just come out and say Robert Greenwald was spot on, and officially declare their "War on Journalism"?

This is not the behavior of normal people.

3. Just heard Bill Kristal on Faux news talk show w Chris Wallace
His words were more or less that the Democrats should just shut up for 6 or 9 months
and let the President lead on the War. How does this fit into to the established
framework of 3 branches of government, and a electoral victory in November 06, which
is as Mark Shields says the Democrats did not win in 06, the Republicans lost in
06. It seems to me that this idea is suggestive of elevating Bush to a role as the
single policy maker in our government, I find their continued efforts to re-enforce this idea, dangerous.

4. Well, if we let Bush and the Repukes do whatever they want for six months...
then there is probably zero chance that ANYONE will EVER vote Republican again.

Because we'll be too busy foraging for food among the debris of our ruined cities.

5. What everyone forgets is that Condi promised a pullout
in the event of an Iraqi Civil War, when Jim Lehrer challenged Bush by saying if Iraq success is so pivotal why don't you institute a draft, send enough troops in so secure
the country, he responded with "That's not what I want." What we have is gradual failure,
we have had 4 surges already which have failed, the democrats have gone along with this
president for 4 YEARS, and after spending a TRILLION dollars and THOUSANDS of casaulties
both Iraqi and American, what success are we building on, NONE.

critical thinking, the last outpost seems to be here on the blogosphere.

8. What a change from Clinton's presidency
how far we have come from the days of Clinton, when even his Christams Card list was
investigated, then the talk show hosts and congress were the defenders of the
constitution against incursion of executive privilege.

14. Read "No Island of Sanity"
On the Paula Jones Case by Vincent Bugliosi, Great Read, and as a reference: the next time
Gonzo drones on about how judges are not qualified to make opinions on the matters relating
to the war on terror, Just read this statement by the Supreme Court of their oversight
function of the Executive Branch

"The fact that a federal court's exercise of its traditional Article III
jurisdiction may significantly burden the time and attention of the Chief
Executive is not sufficient to establish a violation of the Constitution...
It is settled law that the seperation-of-powers doctrine does not bar
every act of jurisdiction over the President of the United States...
If the Judiciary may severely burden the Executive Branch by reviewing the
legality of the President's official conduct...it must follow that the federal
courts have the power to determine the legality of his unoffical conduct..
We therefore hold that the doctrine of seperation of powers does not require
federal courts to stay all private actions against the President until
he leaves office."

15. I have little understanding of what went on then
I believe this was a planned exercise, the net result was that the son of an unpopular president ascended the presidency after the existing president had established a period
of prosperity and a budget surplus.

17. They really should be treated as one would and fascist threat to democracy
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 01:56 PM by HughMoran
These people are as dangerous to freedom and democracy as any skin-head hate group in this country.

I'm not sure why this heavy-handed administration isn't cracking down on this unAmerican operation? Oh, wait...
