Seriously, what are Mitt's chances?
I have the same repulsive chemical reaction to him as I do Bush. In a way, I hope he runs so all his dirt can be revealed to the general public.

But what do you all think? Could he actually be the nominee? (Bwahahahahaha)

4. He was just the governor. He's not a Bostonian (nor would he be allowed to become one)

5. A Mormon?
I dunno, I have to wonder if it isn't like being African American.

Oh, sure, Americans say they would have no problem voting for one, but they may. A lot of Fundamentalist Christians look at Mormons as cultish.

Anyway, if he *does* get the nomination, we could do the same thing to him we could to McCain, only more so. Offer maple syrup for all of his waffles. Only for him, it could actually be done in the Primary. A subtle whisper campaign about his Mormonism - lies interspersed as questions (don't Mormons still believe in plural marriage?). Hard hitting ads about his relatively recent conversion to opposing reproductive rights and marriage equality (did he really have a change of heart or is this just politics?) Doesn't McCain have some of the Bush folks working for him.

10. LOL, I think the electorate are afraid of mormons as much.........
as they are of muslims.
Another point. How in the world would the crazy christian right reconcile voting for a mormon? Then again, one from Massachusetts. I think they would stay home in droves.

6. He won't get their nomination, so I'd say zero
I don't really think there is much "dirt" is there? His religion, and his change of heart on the issues, oh and his change of residence is about all they have... and he was a lousy governor.

7. He doesn't have a chance with the Fundie vote
they are a force in the Republic party, and they don't like his past statements on gays.

He & Giuliani would both be more dangerous in a general election, however.

underestimate the Republicans. Look who they nominated last time.

as his hair oil.

He's constantly several steps behind... ideawise.
In other words, republicans will love him.

11. I doubt he'll actually announce his candidacy. He won't get nominated.
I think his "exploratory" committee is a mechanism for collecting campign funds which he can subsequently broker for favors. If he collects a good amount, he's a 'player' even if he hasn't a snowballs' chance in Hell of getting the support of Southern Republicans or fundie/bible-belt 'values voters.' He may be looking for a cabinet position or an ambassadorship - and I doubt he cares whether it's in a Democratic or Republican administration. (Remember, a Democrat tapping a Republican for the cabinet is now 'expected.')

21. Well, according to Tweety, who was having a fantasy over him the other day, Mitt has the perfect
hair, the perfect family, the perfect chin, the perfect smile and is the most handsome presidential candidate running, Mitt 'could' win.:eyes: I swear Tweety said this. He was DROOLING over Mitt Romney the other day.

Romney doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the nomination.
