Wow, the Number is up to 3046 this morning.
Just added 24 new American deaths to an already way too high total.

3. Actually, one dead from this fiasco of a war is too many.
I wish there was some way we could just turn back time. Go back to a saner time.

These last 6 years are going to go down as one our countries darkest hours.

4. I always check the warcasualties site - and it very often
goes up later in the day.

The other really awful part of this is that number doesn't even begin to show the depth of pain of this awful war. Over 20,000 wounded. No one knows how many severly mentally wounded.

And 60,000 plus (by thousands and thousands) of Iraqis dead.

Most of their Middle Class has fled.

It is just awful.

5. maybe that number is true for military deaths but my gut tells me there is a lot more
civilian deaths that we don't hear about. and if that is true that is only embolding the Iraqi because to them they are seeing that they are making headway.

7. How's this counted? When was death #1?
Is this counted from the start of the war in 2003? or the start of the war in 1991?

I'm guessing the number omits the 350-ish U.S. dead in the second phase ("Desert Storm") of this war.

9. Early yesterday, I mused that it would take 30 deaths at one time
to really make an impact....sadly, we're up to 24.....I'm wondering if that will be enough to send a really big ripple through the American psyche....
