U.S. Soldiers Taunt Crippled Dog In Iraq

It seems that our army has its fair share of criminals. Here is a link
with information, a disturbing video of the incident and a petition.

1. We lowered our standards for recruits and look what we got.

2. The face of one of the soldiers is shown; the voice of the
other one is audible. The perpetrators of this should be found.
This war is leading to increased insensitivity to pain and suffering.

3. Exactly

Throwing rocks at an injured dog for kicks? I couldn't
look at the video. I'm glad they have a face. Their
commanders deserve to be charged as well. This act
of violence needs to be addressed. The public needs
to know about it.

4. Their commanders need to be charged? Please. That's a nonstarter.
Their superiors didn't give them orders to harass injured animals. There are a number of charges that could be brought against them for their unbecoming conduct alone. But charging their bosses is just a silly idea, absent any proof that they were operating under orders.

5. Someone who will do this to a defenseless animal
will do the same or worse to another human. These people ought to to locked up.

6. I hope they did kill it in the end

Yeah, they throw some small rocks at it to make it run or walk. Running or walking obviously isn't fun for the poor dog, and that part was cruel. Instead of screaming for their heads, and hoping they never come back from Iraq like what was done the last thread, I just want to get those guys out of there. I think combat has messed with their heads, and their level of empathy is nearly zeroed out.

For the record, I'd have shared some of my MRE with the dog, and then shot it in the head. There isn't room for 2 legged dogs in combat missions, and clearly there were no Iraqis volunteering.

8. Yes, the war is messing with their heads...

and innocent civilians have been murdered. The commanders don't share the blame?
There is no room for torture. Perhaps the soldiers are forced to stay too long. Their
commanders are to blame. They should recognize the symptoms before the soldier
commits suicide, murder, abuse of any kind.

It does look like the soldiers were having a good time at the expense of the suffering
dog, not flipping out because of stress.

Yes, these guys, the good & the bad, have to come home.

9. You think the commanders go on patrols?
You think the commanders allow themselves to be videotaped?

99% of the video coming out of Iraq is from enlisted. Commanders are never seen. Why is that?

11. This video is just disgusting.
Sign the petition.

WTF is WRONG with these assholes??? I mean apart from the fact that they have been repeatedly stranded in hostile territory through ineffectual political solutions by an uncaring government...

12. Sickening.
And from the link on the online petition, apparently a lot of U.S. military personnel who have seen this video are pretty pi$$ed by what these soldiers did, too.
