Newsweek Poll: Bush is Weak, Dishonest, Unethical & He Does Not Care About You Or Me!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16712630/site/newsweek/

Bush’s Iraq plan isn’t doing anything for his personal approval rating either; it’s again stuck at its lowest point in the history of the poll (31 percent). Meanwhile, the new Democratic-controlled Congress is getting relatively high marks. And 55 percent actually trust Congressional Dems on U.S. policy in Iraq, far more than the 32 percent who trust their commander in chief.

10. Please tell me whether or not you think each of the following phrases describes George W. Bush.

a. Has strong leadership qualities

Current Total
Yes-----------------41%
No------------------57%
DK-------------------2%

b. Is honest and ethical

Current Total
Yes------------------41%
No-------------------54%
DK--------------------5%

c. Cares about people like you

Current Total
Yes------------------35%
No-------------------60%
DK--------------------5%

5. I can't believe he's even registering numbers at 35%-41%! Some people are obviously FOOLS.
That has to be his 30% evangelical base PLUS some warmongers. How sick.

6. What an honest media can do
This is what people would have been able to see in either 2000 or 2004, if we'd had an honest media.

8. Yes I agree
There's a lot more info there. A big margin of the public wants a Dem president, including a big margin of independents.:toast: :bounce:

9. scary bit from the poll:
Obama vs. Guiliani--- About 8% Dems jump ship in favor of Guiliani. It must be the perception of inexperience vs. Giuliani's 9-11 sainthood. Not good.

12. What I find telling
is the fact that fewer of the faithful think Bush cares about them. That shows a crumbling of his support.

21. Heh - last election a friend of mine made bumper stickers that read
GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU

It was a good meme - I saw them around Seattle a lot. Too bad it didn't 'stick'.

22. Care about you or me? He doesn't even care about the troops
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 11:50 AM by lebkuchen
The military received a cost of living raise so small, nobody even noticed it in their LES. Bush has done everything he can to downsize VA services yet escalate deployments. He's taken away soldiers' time with their families, who must sit in Texas, Kansas, and NC (etc) waiting for their loved one(s) to return from a year-long tour while receiving meager support on/near bases with limited funding to provide--housing services in particular. Join the army, see the world with your family? That was then. Overseas tours are difficult to get for the military family anymore due to downsizing. Base support, for childcare and schools, has decreased by over 70%, and medical support has essentially been funneled to Landstuhl, as if it weren't busy enough as is, with wounded flown in from Afghanistan and Iraq daily.

Why anyone would consider making any branch of the military short of the Coast Guard a career these days is a mystery.
