I was Thinking about the Judical Committee Hearing yesterday and
reviewing what was said I believe Patrick Leahy was brilliant. Just brilliant.
He gave an unforgetable performance

2. When's the next installment?
Leahy's had a long time to seethe and plan. I can't wait for the next step. I am trusting him to dot every i and cross every t.

4. Leahy was the Star for sure, but there were also several other Dems
who did a great job on Gonzo too. The one newby who used to be an AG in his home State really put Gonzo down by having to explain the laws regarding witness testimony, Schumer did well, and even Grassley & Spector stuck a few forks in him!

I'm looking forward to a lot more great hearings from this new Congress!

6. My right-wing friend watched the same hearing but had a different take.
He thought that Karl Rove was lovin' it because it showed a bunch of old, white, Democrats beating up on a poor young Hispanic man who has worked hard to get an education and build a career. Sort of a "high-tech lynching".

He figured this would be a huge advantage for the Republicans and would guarantee them the Hispanic vote.

I reminded him that: Hispanics are not a monolithic community, people know who's on their side and who's not, and that most African Americans didn't and don't support Clarence Thomas.

We'll see.

It's always interesting hearing from the other side. Makes me think we saw two different things, and I guess we did. We each had our respective "filters" on so we received different information.

9. Oh, sweet delusions.
Did you remind him how much time Republics have spent demonizing brown people? For which the Hispanics hate their guts, and the whites hate the Hispanics?

Anyhow, your friend made me laugh.

8. Yes, Leahy was brilliant.
He brought up the anthrax attacks. I hope the Committee opens an investigation into that. Those things were definitely government-made.
