Anyone notice all of the commercials by PhRMA touting the "success" of the Medicare prescription
drug plan?

I've seen their commercial a number of times now on MSNBC. Wonder what their agenda is? Check their website. It seems they are trying to convince people that allowing the government to negotiate lower drug prices will hurt seniors.

http://www.phrma.org/vha/

Wonder if NBC will be cautious about criticizing the obscene profits big pharma is reaping thanks to Medicare Part D? I wonder how much those ads are costing? Anyone wonder why prescriptions are so expensive?

Recognize this guy? It's PhRMA President and CEO Billy Tauzin. You know, the guy who as the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, helped write the bill for the Medicare prescription drug plan and then immediately left congress and took the job as the chief lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry.

1. Speaking of Big phRMA...
...Have you seen the doc "Big Bucks, Big phRMA"?

If you goto DEMOCRACYNOW.org and watch todays (19th of Jan.) the play/show part of it, as tragic as it is that people will take advantage of others for pictures of dead presidents on green paper, it is something that should be watched.

Do you have high blood pressure? I was told recently (mind you I am only 33yrs of age) that my blood pressure was higher then the national average. After watching that doc I questioned that assesment and I will not be taking a perscription for it, thats what I told my whom did not push the issue.

I am begining to think that blood pressure is not a serious illness and that will fluxuate on a regular bases. I have a blood pressure machine at home and I have been checking it on a regular bases, I have not had any ill effects or feel any different. Even though the medical department nurse told me that "high blood pressure was a silent killer."

Currently I am on 2 persciptions. 1 for my skin and Paxil, which I have had no adverse side effects with...I dont like taking them but the skin pill and paxcil both seem to work, I hope I dont have to take them the rest of my life though.

2. Yes, it appears bull$hit
The announcer who does those commercials once did the announcments for Rudolph Giuliani when he ran for Mayor in the 1990's, and he also announces the opening for Nature on PBS.

These GOP announcers do alot of announcing for different people and different causes, each of them for ruining life for the middle class and the poor.

Repeal Medicare Part D. Place an 80 percent coverage of Medication in Part B, repeal the part B means test.
