Listen to Hannity if you can - FAIRNESS DOCTRINE
This is a battle that is really shaping up. He is claiming it will silence him - which it will not. It's only meant to provide an opposing viewpoint. Notice that no one is allowed to come on to speak on behalf of the FD. For those of you who doubt that it would work - it worked for almost 40 years.

1. That's not what he's really worried about
the fairness doctrine is also designed to hold people accountable for what they spew on their shows. He and Melanie Morgan and the rest of them are worried that they will have to lay off the lies and outrageous statements that endure their audiences to them. Imagine if Ann Coulter could be held responsible for inciting freepers to mail "fake" anthrax letters to Olberman and others.

2. I can't stand Sean. Never listen to him, regret even hearing snippets.

It's his voice, his hair, his face, his friendship with Coulter, the whole package. Can't stand the man, nor can I stand what he stands for. He's a bigot, and he's full of hatred for anyone who isn't just like him.

In my opinion, if the Fairness Doctrine would SHUT HIM UP, it would be worthwhile for that reason alone.

It wasn't perfect, but it was better than what we've had lately. We need to make sure the entire story is told, not just the parts that are beneficial to one party or the other. It's the only way to keep everyone clean. If there's no dirty laundry to be aired, there's nothing to hide!

3. Sean does have a good point
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 03:54 PM by BOSSHOG
If his listeners had to actually listen to factual data (which would be the counter programming to his) they may decide he's not worth listening to anymore, ergo his mike would be moot. What's fair about that???

I feel I must -- :sarcasm:

4. I have to chuckle at the thought of hannity trying to explain
to his listeners what the Fairness Doctrine is. Kinda like war correspondent o'lielly regaling us with tales of his brave actions from the battlefield.
