Hillary's WalMart Record
okay, usually I am a critic of Hillary's but I did some research on her past with being on the WalMart board of Directors and I have to give it to her...she did good things there. Here is a link:

1. Most liberal critics would like her better if they did some research.
On everything.

2. My main beef
with her is on Iraq. I cannot get over the "yes" voters. I just can't do it.

3. Same here and she's just NOW starting to call for a change in Iraq. What took her so long?
The election was on November 7, 2006. The PEOPLE spoke.

4. the "yes" voters -

they were duped just like most of America.

Maybe they just couldn't wrap their heads around the fact that someone could be as low and base as the bush admin turned out to be. That they would stoop to such disgustingly low tactics as to LIE - not only to the American people, but to the Senate and House as well.

Naive? Maybe. But I think they really believed it was the right thing to do at the time. And, you have to remember, they are *supposed* to be there to serve their constituents and vote what they want, not necessarily what the individual wants.

I'm inclined to let those "yes" voters off the hook just a bit by giving them the benefit of the doubt. Hindsight is always 20-20.

And not everyone can be as smart as we DU'ers, eh? ;)

If they'd just LISTEN to us!

edit spelling/grammar. :eyes:

5. I wasnt duped
neither was the CIA, 2/3 of Dems in congress, foreign govs, or the majority of Dem voters...so apparently she is either stupid, calculating, or bought out. Whichever it is, her and others who voted yes showed horrible leadership and dont deserve the presidency.

6. Then that's where you should do your research.
Hillary voted "Yes" to give Bush the authority to use force to back up diplomatic pressure. Her specific words:

Today we are asked whether to give the President of the United States authority to use force in Iraq should diplomatic efforts fail to dismantle Saddam Hussein's chemical and biological weapons and his nuclear program.

snip

So it is with conviction that I support this resolution as being in the best interests of our nation. A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort. And it is a vote that says clearly to Saddam Hussein - this is your last chance - disarm or be disarmed.

http://clinton.senate.gov/speeches/iraq_101002.html

-------

Compare to Wesley Clark's advice before the House Armed Services Committee in September of 2002, and you see a possible reason Hillary and other Dems voted as they did. From Wesley Clark:

"Our President has emphasized the urgency of eliminating these weapons and weapons programs. I strongly support his efforts to encourage the United Nations to act on this problem. And in taking this to the United Nations, the President's clear determination to act if the United Nations can't provides strong leverage undergirding further diplomatic efforts."

"The United States diplomacy in the United Nations will be further strengthened if the Congress can adopt a resolution expressing US determination to act if the United Nations will not. "

"The more nearly unanimous the resolution, the greater its impact in the diplomatic efforts underway."

----------------

The lie that Hillary was pro-invasion, or that she voted to invade Iraq, or even that she supported Bush until recently on the matter, can easily be debunked with a little research.

10. She voted YES on the Iraq war resolution.
She voted YES on the Iraq war resolution. I don't give a shit about her logic or any qualifying "statements" she made to try and sugarcoat a fucked up vote. She voted YES to authorize the use of force.

11. Back when Hillary was 1st involved, WalMart wasn't nearly as bad it has been since.
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 07:16 PM by blm
I also think back then alot of people WANTED WalMart to be what it advertised itself to be at first.

I give her a pass on this past action, and hold accountable those greasing the wheels for WalMart since they came out of the closet as A-1 fascists.
