I'm suffering from fatigue.
Edited on Mon Jan-15-07 12:35 PM by Skidmore
I'm sick and tired and tired of being sick and tired. I sick of the Middle East and every nation and religion in it. I'm sick of politicians and powerbrokers and the greed that supports them. I'm sick of ideologues and their media megaphones. I'm sick of the mindset that picks war over peace. I'm tired to the bone of those who would deprive others of basic needs and health. I'm sick of the callousness and indifference of the American consumer and their blind pursuit of ridiculous crappy stuff. I'm sick of seeing suffering in the world and knowing that there could be a chance to for it to be alleviated if it weren't for those listed before. I'm at the point where I'm tired of trying to make a difference.

1. I'd say take a week off.
Do something else to recharge your batteries. Don't watch the news--or at least limit it to a 15 min. summary on the radio or something--but then do something else. Re-connect with family and friends and your own self. Eat healthy food and get some exercise. It will really help restore you.

2. I understand.
The news is so relentlessly bad, the Bush administration is so corrupt, reckless, irresponsible, cynical and yes, downright evil, that it is hard to face these facts everyday. But to give up is to give in to the forces that will continue to rape the planet, terrorize other nations, and impoverish millions of people. Maybe you should take a break from the news for a few days to restore your spirit.

3. Six years of this shit is enough for everyone.
It certainly hasn't solved any of my pre-existing problems.

4. Gee, I'm Surprised You're Saying This.....
I've been SICK & TIRED and TIRED & SICK for so long now I actually want to whack a lot people up side their heads.

Especially most of the IDIOTS who keep sending me Clinton email! I mean how totally stupid, even when I've told them I'm not a Hillary supporter! So, they just keep on sending me Bill & Hillary stuff!

But I'm more than sick of what has happened to AMERICA... and it's more than shameful that we feel so helpless. I know I do. I write letters, sign petitions, go to meetings, call Congress, send emails, blog and blog, but I want ACTION! I'm afraid that these things just don't do it for me anymore. I blog because I don't watch MSM very much and this is where I get a lot of my information.

Guess what.... IT AIN'T really happening! And for those of us who don't have hefty incomes, it's hard to do very much. I wanted to be in D.C on the 27th, but can't make it. I'll try to go in March... but far too many people think that having marches don't work anymore, so I wonder why I should even try!

5. Then let go
Stop trying to control every aspect of life. If more people did that, we wouldn't have to try making a difference. We would just be different.

The problem is that we're trying to be something we're not, we're trying to do something we can't do. Unfortunately, everything we do these days tells us we are what we aren't, and can do what we can't.

My advice would be not to take a week off and come back, ready to do whatever it was that made you frustrated and fatigued to begin with. Wouldn't that be crazy?

Another world could be possible. But we have to let go of this one, and especially the artificial, before anything is going to be different.

6. I'm sick of being owned - they are stealing ME right before my
eyes. They are stealing YOU right before your eyes. They came up with a redux of patriotism to steal our kids. They decide when they want to look at your financial set-up, your mail, your internet clicks, you library history, your private data that is so easily stolen, and I'm sick of them maintaining a giant data base run by Republicans.

7. I'm pretty fatigued myself.
Just a combination of things. But everything seem srelentlessly BAD. The ONE bright spot, of course, is the Dems taking House and Senate. But then there's Holy Joe ... geez, it's always something. I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired ...

13. I'm sick too. But I just listened to Dr. King's speech on Vietnam
and I've gotten my second wind. Take a break this afternoon and listen to this speech. The media never mention this one on MLK Day.

16. Taking time off doesn't help
I tried that and find I keep thinking about all of it anyway .

Problem seems to be many people put far too much faith in all these politicians as if they will fix anything . onlt when the people decide to take it to the streets will this ever change .

22. That's because you've been emotionally and intellectually involved all along.
Go amongst a group of people and start asking them what they think about the war, and I guarantee that a very large percentage of them will answer, "What war?"

If every person in this country took this personally like you do, it would soon be over.
Keep up the good fight, my friend.

23. We aren't as alone out there as we were in 2001 when a teeny DU,
joined a few other sites and there weren't more than a few hundred people even talking about doing something about the Stolen Election 2000.

I had just gotten my first computer using Win'95 and it opened the WORLD!

"Buzzflash" and "Media Whores Online" came on the scene and more sites were created and people started to pass on articles and write thoughts and then started to work on Election Reform" with BLACK BOX VOTING. 9/11" happened and we grew bigger as people processed that and started to ask questions and we suddenly had folks digging up info and passing along all the events that were going on in the background tying into that devastating event.

You know all the rest of the history, but as tired as some of us are who've been at this for years...just think how much help we have today.

The discouragement for me comes that with all this help we just can't seem to bring the Crime Family down and get the accountability that most of us think should have happened in 2004.

Just have to keep hoping that it's all coming to point where WE are the MAJORITY and that the road ahead will easier than the long trail of tears and frustration that's behind us.

It's hard to take a break and "get away from it" because we see the results of what they've done EVERYWHERE...but it's probably what we can't see that's going on that is the "rebirth" of a country with better principles than what we've been running on for decades now.

We are just casualties.

My counselor opened me up to the viewpoint in the subject line. And she is very much a Leftie. Moreso than I will ever be. A perspective is a good thing. Especially given how lonely my life has been. A counselor is a good thing to have...

26. sick of politics everywhere
I know the feeling..I thought I was in a position to make a difference not too long ago but due to bushlike political behavior with people (lying, incompetence unwillingness to change..) had to leave a wonderful job after my brilliant, honest and effective boss (not to mention trusting) was "pushed" out of co-chair position at NIH because he actually did too good of a job. It really was like seeing what Bush and Co do on a national level but this was SCIENTIFIC..Bush's sliminess really is everywhere..:-(
