In the event that anyone here has any illusions about Joe Lieberman
being an honest individual, perhaps you missed this little nugget from his MTP appearance:

"The president offered a proposal the other night that holds the hope of victory in a critical battle for the Iraqis and for us. With all respect, the other proposals represent the beginning of a retreat, of a defeat. And I think the consequences for the Middle East, which has been so important to our international stability over the years, and to the American people, who have been attacked on 9/11 by the same enemy that we’re fighting in Iraq today, supported by a rising Islamist radical super-powered government in Iran, the consequences for us, for—I want to be personal—for my children and grandchildren, I fear will be disastrous. That’s why I want to do everything I can to win in Iraq. And, and, and I think that’s what my, my oath of office requires me to do."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16577874/page/5/

Just to be clear, Holy Joe has advanced the idea that not only did Iraq attack us on 9/11, but Iran was also behind it. Even the most heinous Republicks have not make that leap yet. Thanks Joe, may you rot in hell.

1. I would love to see the dirt that the pugs have on Joe!
It must be really terrible to make him lie like that! Let me say that the pictures must really burn the eyes! He is a disease on this country! Peace, Kim

He was blinking a lot during that appearance.

10. We're of the same mind on that issue
While I won't abandon the party, I will only vote for PDA and DFL candidates.

4. Something else I heard about Lieberman
Can't confirm it, but I heard that HE IS BLOCKING ANY SENATORIAL INVESTIGATIONS of the whole Katrina fiaasco. This is unacceptable, if true. In other words, the Dems really don't have a majority in the Senate with Lieberman being a Repub in independent's clothing.
Sorry about the caps, just trying to emphasize the point.

22. He's saving them from their impeachable emails to each other
People would be in the streets the next day if it were revealed what * and others were saying to each other during the 5 DAYS after Katrina that people were dying of thirst and heat exhaustion.

Perhaps worse, because he is crammed into the wrong party.

Talk about usurping the democratic process...

17. I don't believe in limiting the people's power to choose their representatives...
... by making that illegal.

I blame the voters for exercising their right in a jackass way.

Certainly, opinions may differ on whether the voters' rights to choose their own representatives should be limited in that fashion.

21. It's obvious from the OP subject whom I'm talking about. No confusion is possible....
Except by those who are out *looking* to be offended. As you seek, so shall ye find, as they say - no phraseology on my end can prevent that. To hell with those people.

12. I had the same reaction when Lieberman said those things.
I vainly hoped that someone would point out that even Junior has admitted Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, Iran was not nearly as hostile toward us until The Decider helped justify the sentiment with his threatening war rhetoric, and there was no al Qaeda presence there until neocons like Lieberman threw out the welcome mat for them. It's frustrating to see these same lies go unchallenged over and over in the presence of Democrats.

24. Yes they have ...
I have a friend that is head over heals republican. He has always believed that bush is the right man at the right time. Every day that goes by, he feels stronger about this.

His latest nonsense spew is that Europe is poised to fall to the IslamoFacists. He believes that our mission should be to wipe them off the face of the earth (i.e. all Muslims).

I can't discuss politics with this person. I didn't have the heart to tell him that there is no such thing as an IslamoFacist, and that this term was created purely to rile up hate for Muslims.

Cheers
Drifter

27. Lets be fair, Lieberman is talking about Al Qaeda.
Remember Zarqawi and the Golden Mosque? Al Qaeda is a powerful force in Iraq, and to some degree we are fighting the people who attacked us on 9/11. That doesn't mean they were there when we invaded, just that we managed to create a chaotic place they could operate in. Lieberman accepts the ideological reason for the war (that democracy can wipe out radical Islamic terrorism) and it's no surprise that he is making this argument.

I hope the McCain Lieberman thing was some terrible, terrible joke.
