What to do instead of watching * on TV tonight?
Since * will be pre-empting network TV tonight, some of us might need something better to do. Here are a few suggestions, feel free to add your own.

Trim your fingernails
Watch free porn preview clips online
Start that addiction to World of Warcraft you've been putting off for so long
Have sex with your significant other
Renew your Pinko Commie Homo Tree-hugger registration card
Review escape route from US for when * assumes complete control and abolishes Congress
Have sex with your significant other again

This is just a short list, there are many other useful things to do with your time tonight.

2. I'll play with my kids a bit
longer than usual tonight - maybe read my son two books instead of one. Just the sound of his voice makes me want to get sick so better yet, the TV remains off this evening.

3. "Watch free porn preview clips online"...
I tell you what, I'll have my 14-year old son get on My Space and he can tell you how the movies turned out. He charged up $513.00 worth of porn on my cable bill. He is in soooooooooo much trouble.

He didn't even care if he understood the movie. He ordered one in Spanish.

13. Yup. Just set your media player to 'loop'
Can make those 30-second clips last as long as you need.

I've never seen Sopranos and was looking forward to the Pilot tonight. Guess I'll set the Tivo for one of the alternate times.

17. How much will they be cutting out, I wonder?
How can you do Sopranos without swearing? Will they bleep it out? Cut the graphic violence (it's not in every episode, but certain meat grinding and bathtub scenes come to mind, as well as some stomach-turning beat-downs)?

Glad they are making such a great show available to everyone who doesn't want to pay for HBO, but I hope they don't cut out too much.

29. Theoretically, they can do whatever they want, can't they?
Cable and satellite stations aren't under the same restrictions that network TV is. It's my understanding that they've pretty much been policing themselves up to this point. Over the last few years, cable channels have been pushing the boundaries further and further. Remember the South Park episode where they said "Shit" over a hundred times? I think after 10pm, they pretty much relax their standards.

It will be very interesting to see how far they go with the Sopranos. Not just language, but also the violence and nudity (Bada Bing).

15. TiVo, baby!
I have a whole list of things I could watch and never go near Live TV. That's usually the plan to avoid * speaking.

Realistically, I'll probably be making dinner, doing stuff with the kids, working a little, and checking in here to read the comments after it's over.

27. Since my satellite dish is still on its back like a dead roach
and covered with snow and it's not going to be reinstalled until the 28th, I rented DVDs for the occasion.

I'm spinning yak hair (don't ask) and expect to spend a quiet evening watching and spinning.
