Urgent countdown to House vote!
In its first 100 hours, lawmakers in the U.S. House have promised to pass meaningful, pocketbook reforms likely to help millions of Americans. But big oil, the drug companies and other opponents have already launched their attacks--and we must respond with a strong outpouring of support from constituents.

Take two minutes to tell your Representative in the U.S. House to vote YES for reduced drug prices and investment in clean energy technologies.

* Drug prices: Right now, federal law prohibits Medicare from negotiating lower prices from drug companies, so consumers and tax payers pay more while drug companies make huge profits. A bill to repeal that prohibition will move to the House floor this week! The drug companies have geared up their army of lobbyists, so lawmakers need to know that you want them to vote YES.
* Energy independence: After a year of record high gasoline prices and growing attention to the global warming crisis, the House will vote within days to roll back billions of dollars in oil industry subsidies and invest the savings in tax breaks that encourage alternative energy, conservation and efficiency. Big oil is not going to lose big government subsidies without a big fight. Lawmakers are ready to listen to you too!

All of these proposals will come to the floor of the U.S. House in the coming days. Help now!

And when you finish, please take a moment to tell your friends. We need tens of thousands of you to communicate with lawmakers in the coming days, and your friends can make a big difference.

Sincerely,
