it seems to me that fidel castro and george w. bush have lots in common
paranoia, for one.

the need to step up and make a major speech every few days to spout out their paranoia of persecution and delusions of grandeur.

granted. fidel castro could make coherent speeches and rant on for hours.

bush speaks in bushisms (or also known as cantisflismos) where he spouts out words but says nothing other than terror, terra, kill, killers, over there, not here and with that stokes the flames of fear that keep many americans from seeing the truth of his lies and manipulations, just like castro's coherent rants did for many cubans many times over the years.

they also have the need to operate a repressive, dictatorial regime.

so ... knowing all of that, why are some of us waiting with baited breath what shrub is going to say tonight?

1. wrong
No, Bush is like Hitler. Come on, get with the program! LOL

Why do some people feel the need to post threads saying that Bush is like (fill in the blank)? Why not simply address the man on his own? I just don't get the comparison threads. They don't seem to add much to the equation.

But hey -- I'm a baseball fan and we talk all the time about whether certain old players are better than certain new players. So I guess I'm guilty too of empty comparisons.

same route as george bush.

you, who have not lived through it, can't get it. i do.

but... you can, if this makes you happy, call it an empty comparison.

i assure you. it is not.

2. One big difference..
.. is that Mr Castro was railing (coherently) about/against US imperialism that has been and is real.

Mr Bush sputters about terra and war that is either a Karl Rove strategery or real blowback to US imperialism.

Another difference..

.. is that over the last 46 years Cuba has developed a world class universal health care and education systems.

Over the last 46 years the US has systematically destroyed world class health care and education systems via corporatization/privatization.
