The Forest is Full of Trees
The trees all get along together, for the most part, but they tend to bend in differing ways to different winds. That's just the way it is. It's not good, and it's not bad. That's just how trees are.

Sometimes trees hear a different sort of wind blowing. A loud, and some would say, obnoxious wind. Some of them are afraid of the new wind and call out to others in their vicinity, "don't listen! Please, don't listen!". Some trees are really very intelligent.

Sometimes other trees do listen, and are the worse off for it, though they don't really understand why. They experience the results of their aquiescence, but still don't know who to blame.

Their brother and sister trees are dying, but they don't know how to stop it. They remain rooted to the ground in their beliefs. They look into themselves, and at the others around them, and tell each other that something has got to change.

Sometimes the wind blows with not only a memory, but with a hope of what could be and what will come. Sometimes the wind blows not only whispers, but loudly spoken, words of change.

Sometimes even trees change. Just look around you.

The forest is full of trees that have changed.

Change will come. And Peace will come.

and.........

Part one.

Peace.

5. Some Trees
These are amazing: each
Joining a neighbor, as though speech
Were a still performance.
Arranging by chance

To meet as far this morning
From the world as agreeing
With it, you and I (and others)
Are suddenly what the trees try

To tell us we are:
That their merely being there
Means something; that soon
We may touch, love, explain.

And glad not to have invented
Some comeliness, we are surrounded:
A silence already filled with noises,
A canvas on which emerges

A chorus of smiles, a winter morning.
Place in a puzzling light, and moving,
Our days put on such reticence
These accents seem their own defense.

7. You probably meant to respond to
the previous poster, but I have to say, that is a very good piece of poetry that was offered.

How did you dig this up? It was something that I thought would be buried forever! :hippie:

peace
