A Huntin' They Will Go ... A Huntin' They Will Go
Hi Ho The Merry Oh,
A Huntin' They Will Go.

Some random thoughts on Cheney, Santorum and LaPierre's hunting trip to Rolling Rock country here in Western PA.

First ... I have to wonder just what Cheney and Santorum would be talking about during their time together. Picturing these two together plotting and planning is SCARY!!! Two of the most sinister Republican politicians a long list of sinister Republicans. What could possibly be in store for us???

Second ... I don't hunt! ... I do flyfish however (catch & release only) so I do know the definition of the word sportsman. Shooting pheasants and ducks in a drum is neither sporting nor a hunt. I think its obscene. However, if you know anything about the Rolling Rock country here in Western PA then you know that its basically a playground for the western PA elite. So they can go there on a nice day, shoot 70 or so ducks and pheasants, donate them to the local food bank, and then claim bragging rights for being "sportsmen."

Third ... This one is too obvious so, other than to say that no hunting "accidents" were reported on the news this morning, I won't go there.

1. Donating pheasant and duck to the local food banks - gag me with buckshot!

Yes, folks, here in Western PA, all of our poor single mothers are adept at preparing roast pheasant! First they marinate it in Veuve Cliquot. While the pheasant marinates, they typically dash out to the nearest Trader Joe's to get some of those little baby red potatoes, some fresh asparagus, a block of Gruyere cheese, etc. Yes, it's a real holiday when you get a pheasant from the food bank. Many women actually take a day off from their minimum wage jobs to have time to do justice to the preparation of the feast!

2. The mega-rich hunting club would not risk a lawsuit based on food poisoning.
After Cheney's slaughter of scores of birds at the hunting club a few years ago, a spokesman from the club uttered the lie that the game would be donated to a local food bank. The truth is likely that the slaughtered birds were buried in a ditch. The oligarchs will disseminate any falsehood to the media to cover up their dirty work, and they know that the masses will swallow it.

6. So that's why he shot his friend...
it's hard to know where you're shooting when you've got an eyepatch on your "aiming eye"

5. This is just more envy of the wealthy.
So you had to go out and go to the extra trouble of actually finding the birds you want to shoot - struggle is good for you.

7. I was born in Adams County (Gettysburg)
and my Dad said that the pheasant hunting back in the 1970's was phenomenal (wild birds). How is it nowadays?
