First, it was going to be a short and temporary two month "surge" in the troops stationed in Iraq, basically a last shot.

Then, it was not going to be as large.

Then, the neo-nutties said it couldn't be for a defined period because the enemy would just "wait it out", so it can't be defined.

Now, not only will it not be for two months, it's going to be "phased in" over a couple of months, and it will not have a definite end, because of course that would allow the enemy to "wait it out"

2. yes, I've noticed. And I fully expect the "plus up"
might be a hell of a lot more than 20,000 bodies (I use the word "bodies" advisedly and with great sadness) and "surge" into Iran.

6. If we take every soldier we have and invade Iran...
leaving our back naked and facing fresh and angry people defending their homes, we will be destroyed. Not just our army, but our nation. 140,000 exhausted, traumatized soldiers cannot win against a pissed off nation of what? thirty to seventy MILLION?

We keep making the mistake of thinking we're still THE SUPERPOWER. We ain't no mo'. George has left us naked to our enemies, and he's made us a shitload of enemies.

4. I'm glad to see you added the term escalation because that is
...exactly what this is, troop escalation, war escalation, just like what happened in Richard Nixon's secret plan to end the Vietnam war which got him elected as president in 1968. Then Nixon escalated the war in Vietnam extending it for another six years, in the end loosing it. So much for surges.

5. Did you miss when it became "two or three years"?
George just can't bear not being a war president.
