I'm So FURIOUS Over This FWd RW BS: CO & Katrina!!
HOW THE HELL CAN THESE PEOPLE EVEN COMPARE KATRINA & THIS BLIZZARD? DID 80% OF DENVER LEAVE THEIR HOMES...WAS THE WHOLE CITY DESTROYED, DID 2,000 DIE?

WHAT ASSHOLES!

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event---may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.
FYI:
George Bush did not come.
FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV .
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5
snowstorm.
Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.
No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.
Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.
Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families.
Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.
We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman
lanterns.
We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.
Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.
"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."
It does seem that way, at least to me.
I hope this gets passed on.

Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a living.

2. That one irritates the hell out of me.
During the Ice Storm here in 1998, we suffered greater damage and greater power loss than those in the blizzard this year. BUT... though some of our homes were damaged, they were not destroyed. Though we lost electricity, it was restored within a week or two at the most. Though it was treacherous, one could drive to buy groceries and other supplies within a few days. IOW there is no comparison to be made between the blizzard and the hurricane. None.

4. The National Guard has been called out in Colorado
as well as 3 other states. There have been 16 deaths here in NM. We'll never know the true number of dead in New Orleans.

I would put anyone who sent me this hateful, racist piece of trash on block, and I don't care who it is. If they need to get in touch with me for an emergency, they can phone, fax or send a damn telegram.

did any grandparents die of dehydration on live TV? did any bodies of abandoned American citizens float past the cameras? did any stranded citizens beg for help from their rooftops while Bush ate cake?

I'm the email supervisor and I went back to BOTH senders and reminded them that our firm doesn't want their employees spreading HATE on company time.

15. 44" of powdery snow melts down to a few inches of water.
Which all runs off downhill and out of harms way if you live in Colorado. Hardly enough to drown you in your attic or render your home unlivable. Nice try wingnuts, but your analogy sucks (as usual).

24. New orleans survived the nature-made hurricane. it was the levees breaking that caused the death.
Guess that is too much for some to understand. but, recycled drivel (and this really is the only thing these people recycle) is too easy. it's much easier than using one's brain.
