Never in the history of our country has American politics been so dominated by sexually repressed men.

Republicans, to say it straight out, simply seem to be terrified of sex. Bush's buddy Christian fundamentalists inevitably conjure up visions of Salem Witch Trials. And predictably, the recent abusive man/boy antics of Republican congressmen demonstrate that sexual repression is always neurotically acted out.

Which brings to mind another matter. A righteous hatred (or fear) of sexuality has historically been associated with a contempt for women. Patriarchal religions are always filled with warnings about the "Goddess" and "nature religions". The very word "pagan" means country dweller. Does this have anything to do with why Republicans are always raping Mother Nature?

5. Male Republicans are terrified of sex

so terrified that they engage in more questionable sexual practices than any other group. But they condemn everyone else and especially anyone who enjoys consensual adult sex that is not within the boundaries of their religion. So they are horrified by oral sex, homosexuality, and women having control over their own bodies.

You don't consciously, purposely hurt what you love and respect, period. It's an impossibility. That's why we have to demonize people we go to war against (call them gooks or worse, or ragheads, etc.).

But once you HAVE dehumanized a class of people (e.g., Iraqis or women and Nature which you've identified with the archetypal Feminine), no holds barred! You can even claim they deserved it, asked for it, were just waiting for it.

I would not, however, say it's just Republicans. There's enough Dem racism and misogny to go around.
