Does he really plan on lying & delaying for the next 2 years?
Just how many ways can a guy say 'the dog ate my homework' before you dismiss him as a pathetic liar? He's like a kid with his fingers in both ears yelling 'la la la la I can't hear you' and stamping his foot. The whole world is sending him a not too subtle message, and he refuses to acknowledge it, or do anything about it. His way or the highway is what we have left, for two long years.

bush does have a tough job right now, following his master dick cheney's orders despite what the smelly citizenry thinks, but is that the entire plan, to just stick it out, hang in there, prolong the agony, extend the timetable, re-explain the reasons, until his presidential clock runs out?

We can look forward to two years of sheer hell, investigations, obfuscations, delays, political battles of the ugliest kind, all the while soldiers will continuing dying FOR NOTHING, and trillions will be stolen right under our noses, in other words, business as usual.

I guess the real question should be, do we really plan on putting up with this obscene bullshit for the next two whole fucking years?

2. A narcissist cannot change course.
They cannot respond appropriately to their environment, or social rules and needs.
They hang onto the delusional belief that they are perfect and everyone else is stupid.

The more upset the country and the world is with bush, the more angry and dug in he will get. The more out of control, the more delusional and paranoid. He will continue to follow the same course in spades so that he can prove how brilliant and right he is.

Anyone who questions him will be fired, or totally ignored. He will become more isolated which will only increase his fury and depression.

4. he will become more openly petulant (esp with Congress)
and his handlers will have to try to keep him out of the public eye as much as possible.

Some of his actions will be stymied by the Congress - which will push him to try to *even more than he has to date* rule by executive order (dictate by fiat).

I fear the damage that he and his admin has already wrought, and what more they will bring about.

However, I think that because it will be so drawn out - and because his actions (already started) are so clearly out of step with the voters, and because the contemporary GOP is, at the top, now so reflexively "anti dem" that many in Congress - for a while, will continute to try to carry the Wh water - just to spite dems not because they still have any loyalty to bush (think: rush limbaugh type reflexive pugilistic behavior) - that by the time the next elections come around - the GOP will be a severely weakened party; and that the public will be more aware - more than even in the post watergate era - of the various ways the bushco operated (beyond the law) via the slew of investigations from congress - and an era of more public awareness will finally emerge.

Meanwhile the problems in Iraq will probably continue to deteriorate - and left to fester until the next president (probably a dem) comes in. But as opposed to those who fear that the "failure" of the war will be associated with whoever that may be - I think it will forever be linked to and blame fall on Bush - much as Johnson is still tarnished more than Nixon (at least in the public's memory) with Vietnam.

7. Yes he will become more angry and more out of touch with reality.
He will speed up his distortions and fantasies, become more
paranoid and sociopathic.

He will believe that everyone is his enemy, continue to fire any
one who does not see how brilliant he is, he may try to get revenge on
those who disagree with him. Escalate the war just to prove that he is right
and everyone else is wrong.

He will increase his alcohol consumption as a way to cope.

6. He has already stated for the record two times
that when we get out of Iraq will be determined by the next President. I heard it with my own ears. They know a Dem will probably get in next time for Pres. The war will make the Dem party look bad instead of the Republicans because there is no way out. The Dem's need to stress that this is "BUSH'S WAR" and he needs to figure out how we get out before he leaves office in two years. We can not own this thing or it will irreparably harm the Democratic Party.

9. except for diehard freeptypes... bush will always
be more strongly associated with this war and the quagmire than will his successor who he will leave to deal with it. Consider this -today, in the public's mind - Johnson is still more associated with Vietnam than is Nixon.

10. First order of business.....get the White House visitor records unsealed.
I think if the Abramoff scandal is thoroughly investigated, including Jeff Gannon etc, cheney and bush will be RESIGNING sooner rather than later. If cheney is investigated first...we'll get a new VP who'll become prez when bush follows him out the door.

11. Yes, so he doesn't lose a war ...
... he can leave it for his successor (undoubtedly a Democrat) to get the historical black eye for losing the war.

12. Since He knows He knows best what must be done...
If we are just too ignorant to understand, well, that's just to be expected (you know the mere citizens is jus' barely above imbecyles (in Dumbya's mind He's the smart one; oh, the irony)).

Nevertheless, thinking He knows what really must be done--especially to guarantee America's future prosperity (increasing wealth for the wealthy) and security (safety, again primarily for His "Base"; and if by making the country secure for them, it just happens to provide security for others, well, isn't he a great President), means it's His duty to do what he thinks--no matter who or how many disagree. Of course, when in doubt, He remembers that He is God's selected leader--and that if things aren't going well, He's just being tested--and must keep the faith and strive all the harder. After all, He cannot therefore have made a "mistake". God ain't makes mistake. Make no mistake, we have a lunatic in charge.
