He says he wants more money for infrastructure (yeah, but, what about here. Remember new orleans, mr chimp?) but, with the pay go rules how does he pay for this???? hmmmmmmmmmmm???? with his tax breaks, and letting cronies rob the treasury there is no money. He has to give something up to pay for it.
Gee, shrub, how does it feel to be on a budget???

1. Ah....you see he will merely take the money from organizations
like the VA...you see he is a sick bastard....and there is no way he will relinquish his "tax cuts" for his rich cronies....so he will do the most obvious...

5. Does paygo apply to supplemental appropriations?
I confess to not having paid too much attention, but I think paygo might only apply to the normal budget. Much of the payment for Iraq has been authorized off line, so to speak.

12. Meaning paygo doesn't apply to Iraq.
Except to the extent it is part of the annual appropriations.

So...folks who depend on Medicaid/Medicare and other government support programs are up a creek without a paddle unless the folks with means decide to find money to pay for the programs - but Bush can still bomb the heck out of Iraq and put multiple future generations in debt to do so.

Sounds like a real effective plan. I had concerns when everyone in DU was cheering a couple of days ago - and more so if the spending limits only apply to the poor folks' needs.

(Not that I'm in favor of fiscal irresponsibility - BUT - I don't think its appropriate to balance the budget on core societal support programs while permitting unchecked spending for whatever current military crisis shrub invents.

6. Bush Has Not Signed PayGo - So To Him It Does Not Exist
A Bill can only become law three ways:

pResident signs it,

pResident signs it with signing statement modifications, and

Congress overrides a veto after pResident does not sign it.

So which way do you think it will go?

My bet is number two!

8. Let charities take care of
Iraq's infrastructure....the Republicans are big on charities. They could start taking up a collection in all those fundamentalist churches tomorrow morning.

9. What I can't understand is what did we
give all that money to Halliburton to rebuild Iraq. Guess they took the money and ran. BUT the dems have a new bill which is going to go after all those cheney companies and how they STOLE our money.
