Well ain't this a slap in the face to the Global Climate Change denialists?

Tucked away in paragraph 3 of ExxonMobile's response to the USC about Exxon funding studies to cast doubt on climate change science.

"Our support of scientific research on climate change is made public on our web site and it includes more than 40 peer reviewed papers authored by ExxonMobil scientists, and our participation on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and numerous related scientific bodies. While there is more to learn on climate science, what is clear today is that greenhouse gas emissions are one of the factors that contribute to climate change, and that the use of fossil fuels is a major source of these emissions."

I think I'll take a screen shot before they decide to backtrack on that.

2. Actually, that strikes me as a suck out. They will hide behind that admission
while they continue to fund the denial lobby.

It reeks, and the time for action against Exxon has come.

6. Well, I'm not going believe in global warming until noted climatologists like....
Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 08:01 PM by Liberal Veteran
....Michael Crichton and Rush Limbaugh say it's really happening and humans are a major factor in it.

Or until the permafrost in Alaska starts melting....whichever comes first. Oh....wait.

7. My thought exactly.
Exxon just can't come to believe that its organization is one of the biggest producers of CO2 emissions.

8. I'm sure it's "everyone else's" fossil fuels....not their good clean magical kind...
...that burns with absolutely no emissions and zero impact on the environment.

11. I don't know about Shell but BP has.
I am not sure how committed BP is to changing its ways. It has a slick marketing campaign about global warming and how BP is committed to the environment but I am skeptical.
