2. Maryland
I'm in Maryland and things are great with me. Nice salary. Ton of business coming in the door. House is way up in value since I bought it four years ago. No complaints here. Unemployment is low too.

So overall, I'd say things are pretty decent.

4. I'm in Maryland too, but
I've been looking for a full-time job for years without any luck. I know lots of people in the same boat -- even a PhD driving school buses. At least I have a part-time job, but there's been hardly any work for me for the past few months, and it's hurting.

9. Had a great job in Maryland...
...but moved to Florida six months ago and am starting to panic. Two adjunct teaching jobs, totaling about $7500/ year. And no benefits of course. Nothing else available.

3. Nope.
Things have been stagnating in a big way. And all the new jobs are crappy service ones. ALL of them.

Upstate NY, which never really had much of a boom, even in the Clinton years.

5. We live in Michigan and it is horrible here for the past six years!
No jobs...more home foreclosures than you can possibly count. My daughter graduated two years ago with a five year teaching degree and has yet to find a job in her field. They are liars. I don't believe it for a minute.
