38. Actually, you are not suppose to give an opinion journalistically
But in this day of fox news, I have not seen one news show that does not do this, including the three networks we use to all watch. (ABC,NBC, and CBS) News is no longer professionally given, it is full of that show biz dazzle. I will not lie, I would love to be able to turn on a show and see a real news show. I never thought I would say this, but I miss the old days, at least as far as news casting is concerned.

43. I agree, in general...
but this was a very bad example. It's a fair debate to ask whether that is an observation or an opinion.

However, there are a ton of examples where the media includes opinions in its work.

Edited on Thu Jan-04-07 09:35 PM by indie_voter
He yelled at the camera calling out Bill, I don't know what Bill exactly said to cause this. But from the rant I got the impression Bill was questioning his republican loyalty.

Scarborough yelled about military adventureism, the republicans pushing up the deficit, the 'swamp' congress became. He then said he was a true conservative and said if Bill didn't understand the damage done to this country, he was a suck up.

This is all from memory and paraphrasing, so sorry in advance for any errors!! Any misinterpretation is mine alone.

84. After the first debate with Kerry...
Scarborough said something like, "I don't know how you can say it was anything but a disaster for Bush."

Of course, after the 3rd debate, he was back on his knees praising Bush... and, while I think Bush got better with each debate, he certainly had a low bar to clear after the first debate. And, I also think Kerry got better with each debate as well.

the point that turned him red and steamy, was the issue as to whether Saddam's execution was a PR nightmare. Apparently, an NBC reporter stated that and the issue was whether that was opinion or fact. I agree with Joe when he claims it as fact. Apparently O'Falafel claims it to be an opinion.

To end it, Scarborough said Saddam's execution will cause more unrest among the Sunni population, we have our boys and girls over there in the middle of it and THEY will be the ones to suffer from the repercussions.

Shock me...I totally agree with him.

70. I am starting to like Joe more and more
Its so odd too. He's a conservative but he is sick of his own party and being part of msnbc feels he has to defend them against B.O. (he does smell..hehe). Anyways, does anyone remember how Joe went off on Tweety on election night? I believe it was something about Tweety accusing him of being biased in favor of Repubs and Chimpy and Joe was scathing at him. He told Tweety he has been critical of Chimpy all along and to listen to his shows everynight! I think Keith has been a good influence on Joe. Its like he's starting to wake up and realize what the Neo-cons did. Regardless of what I feel about conservatives, I like when they pile the crap on the Bushie and his cronies in Congress. Joe is way better than Tweety because he voted for Bush/defended him and the war for so long that he now is pissed off at the whole mess whereas Tweety is just an opportunist and doesn't really have a belief in anything. Joe believes that the Iraq war is "unwinnable" and that is better than some so-called Dems/moderates (Lieberman).

71. VIDEO can be found here...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036789/

This is Scarborough's main page. If you click one of the videos, it will pop up a new window w/ a video player. The clip you should look for is called "Bill's Battle."

77. Scarborough is watching Keith's ratings go up
and getting on the indignation bandwagon. I loved it, but it's kind of weird how Joe can really be ranting bit his facial expression remains bland. It's a refreshing break from CNN, where they have gone to the dark side with that idiot Glenn Beck:puke:

87. Sure
I'm here to spread happiness. :) It is fun to watch - I laughed out loud when he called O'Reilly a "suck-up". The last 3 minutes are where Scarborough's rant is, if anyone wants to fast forward the rest of the segment.

82. I'm not impressed
Scarborough was mad because O'Reilly said "everyone" on MSNBC hates Bush. Joe made a point (again) to say he voted for Bush TWICE and supported the war from the beginning. Why should we be cheering for him?! He has been an enabler for YEARS.

Joe also said "I NEVER said Bush was an idiot." No, he just devoted a whole show to the question of "Is Bush an Idiot?" -- a typical FOX ploy to raise a question while avoiding responsibility for it.

Joe despises Dems more than he (now) despises Bush. I hate that smug beady-eyed slit-mouthed Repuke. It was great hearing BillO called a whore, but it's laughable hearing it from Scarborough. Too little, way too late.
