Bush* Pledges to Balance Budget by 2012, If You Don't Count The War. Bwahahaha
The absurdity of this smoke & mirrors. Bush*s' budget does not include Iraq.
Pretty easy pledge when he'll have been out of office for years.

~~snip~~ ...presidential spokesman Tony Snow was pressed to explain how Bush's budget-cutting pledge could be reconciled with the burgeoning costs of the war in Iraq, which is funded largely through emergency supplemental bills rather than the regular annual budget process. Those costs thus are currently not subject to overall spending limits and are excluded from deficit calculations.

Snow said Bush in his Jan. 23 State of the Union speech would "move toward making expenditures in Iraq and in the war on terror generally, including Afghanistan, as transparent as possible." ~~snip~~

1. Oh yeah, he actually increased the deficit by 10%. He stole money from social security...

however to cut it in half.

In other words, he stole money from the social security and government pension trust funds. Money which the rich do not have to pay on most of their income. So in other words he's stealing from the middle class/poor to give to the rich.

(The rich would be equally responsible for the debt if it were borrowed from other countries or from the people in bonds/etc. The rich do not pay payroll taxes on their income over approx. $100,000, and they don't have to pay and payroll taxes on capital gains (income) on investments.)
