Rummy & Cheney out there in Grand Rapids giving Eulogies......
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 03:41 PM by KoKo01
I lost the respect I had for Ford listing to Rummy who is droning on now bitter and angry about his buddy Nixon being forced to resign. The Ford family seems to be really broken up about Rummy's blithering bitter eulogy.
He has mentioned the word "bitterness" many times in this eulogy. Methinks he is projecting his own feelings on Ford. He's sniffing to hold back his emotion.

I don't know if I can wait to hear Cheney who is sitting their like there's not a cloud in his sky as happy and calm can be.

Carter is up now to speak. I can't imagine him there with Rummy/Cheney...

On Edit: I don't think Ford was anything like the thugs that are there now like Cheney and Rummy have become. I just wish the family hadn't asked those to to give eulogies because the association kind of ruins the memory of Ford for me. I can't imagine why they would consider them that close since Ford doesn't seem to have been like them.

1. The Ford family should cry...
for the old man will forever be tainted by the criminals he surrounded himself with. He should have repudiated them while he was still alive. I'd cry too.

there given his friendship with Carter and his more moderate views. And, that Rummy would dishoner him by doing a "bitterness speech."

4. Carter is giving a gracious speech....and talks about his meeting with
Ford in White House after he defeated him. How much they worked together into a "bi-partisan spirit whose days are gone."

He's being upbeat about both marrying "strong and independent minded wives" and having three boys and having their prayers answered when they had a girl.

It's very nice..talking about how their friendship grew. Now Ford is talking about religious faith...and how to achieve reconciliation between their different denomination. He's saying Christians shouldn't be divided over gays and womens issues...we should unite in our commonality that we are saved by Jesus. (a dig at the Bushies and their RW Cabal that runs them)

5. Someone else up saying "No one would accuse Gerry Ford of being Imperial President!
Apparently this was someone who worked with the Fords on their funeral plans this year. Anyway the contrast with Bush is incredible and he's going on talking about Justice Department was purged of politics and the CIA was reigned in! Sounds like this guy is really digging at the Chimp.
