How do you feel when you hear the word 'sacrifice' out of bush's mouth?
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 10:04 AM by Philosoraptor
: an act of offering to a deity something precious; especially : the killing of a victim on an altar
2 : something offered in sacrifice
3 a : destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else b : something given up or lost <the sacrifices made by parents>
4 : LOSS <goods sold at a sacrifice>
------------------------------------

I feel sick to death. I hate the way they've stolen all of our words and tried to use them to cover up their true meaning. He dares to utter this word all the time. He strips it of it's very meaning, it is a word and a concept that is beyond his extremely limited understanding.

I watched Olberman last night, and he was highly offended that bush plans to use this word again and again in the future. Sacrifice? That's what Kieth kept repeating incredulously.

This ape bush is willing to sacrifice EVERY FUCKING ONE OF US and our children too for his master dick cheney.

What sacrifice shall bush make? Will he make the ultimate sacrifice that 3,000 G.I.'s have made? Will he sacrifice his limbs, his eyes, his testicles, his daughters, his very life?

No, he'll sacrifice OUR CHILDREN.

Sacrifice? What the fuck does the word even mean in the year 2007?

The above dictionary description of sacrifice applied to this ape is terrifying indeed.

1. KO nailed it last night. Incredible to see that on the tube. I was
just sitting there with my mouth open, hoping that the BBC has it wrong, too. I keep thinking "this time, they've gone too far, surely people will see through the BS and finally do something to stop this delusional asshole", but sure enough, the morning shows are all talking about "surge" and "20,000 more troops." Color me queasy.

3. The only sacrifices will be made by us little people,
not by the Aristocracy. What gets me are these military recruiting ads showing working class kids and their parents talking about the opportunities in the armed forces. Why not show a wealthy family wanting their kids to enlist in thanks and gratitude for a country that has given them so much? I mean, if there's supposed to be sacrifices made shouldn't all of America be doing it?

9. I'm not sure he'd care if the twins had to go. He's too self-centered.
I think he cares more about how history will view him, so if it takes the twins going to Iraq, he'd be okay with it. Not that it would ever happen.

8. It makes me sick-
The only thing "sacrifice" is to * is a word he hears in his earpiece. It's another religious code word.

13. Outraged. My son is on his third tour to Iraq
And I'm hearing sacrifice from a man who, as Molly Ivins said, "was born on third base and acts like he hit a triple."
When has Bush sacrificed? What has he sacrificed? He doesn't even sacrifice his sleep for this country. He gets his 8+ hours - regardless. And has bragged about it. "No, I don't have trouble sleeping." He should. My husband and I didn't sleep the night before we had to say good-bye to our son. For the third time.
He took the quickest trip to Iraq possible. Landed, talked to a few people, and was outta there.
He couldn't sacrifice his time from campaigning to help the Katrina victims.
He couldn't sacrifice his pigheaded rigidity to see that Rumsfeld was way off track for years.
He couldn't sacrifice his close-minded refusal to read or study to learn about stem cell research.
The man doesn't want to do the work that is necessary for his job. He's lazy and disinterested. His staff has to show him National Geographics so he'll know where airforce one is headed. Really.
Because he just can't sacrifice any of his time to do his homework.
Face it. He wants to be in the gym, riding his bike, or on the ranch clearing brush. He won't read beyond a few paragraphs. Again, he's proud of that.
This is the LAST person who should be lecturing me or any other American about sacrifice.

16. you KNOW how it makes us feel
and I appreciate you asking. When he says that word in the context he uses it, I want to scream so loud the Earth shakes.... it's one of his most annoyingly used code words.

17. Well he didn't bother to use them on memorial day two years ago..
so this is just more smoke & mirrors. People were told to go shopping and forget about the war at the start. It is a little late in the game to put soldiers and sacrifice together in the same sentence. But that will not stop Bush.
