Party matters case number 1000000000
Edited on Tue Jan-02-07 06:08 PM by dsc
Today the Massachusetts legislature voted to put on the ballot an iniative to end gay marriage in Mass. The GOP voted 21 in favor, 6 against, no abstentions. Democrats voted 41 in favor, 127 against, 4 abstentions. By percent, 77.7 of GOP votes in favor, 22.2 percent of votes against. That is nearly 4 to 1 in favor. The Dems broke 24% in favor, 74% against, 2% abstaining. Close to a mirror image. Party matters. Only a liar or a fool would suggest otherwise.

Edit 1 put in Democratic numbers and percentages. Edit 2

Note this is in a state where the people favor same sex marriage being legal. This isn't some sort of anti gay bastion. Party matters, more than just about anything else in regards to gay rights.
