6. And if it's gonna be on teevee
We'll need sponsors! Let's see, Exxon, Halliburton, KBR, Custer Battles, and Bechtel could all make those long, soft-focus three minute commercials, telling us about all the profit they've made off of the misery in Iraq, and how grateful they are to the American people to sacrifice so much time and so many lives so their CEOs don't have to suffer through the embarrassment of piloting last year's model yacht around the marina.

11. When I was about 6 or 7, they showed a dramatization of the life of
Brazilian independence martyr Tiradentes. When they took him out of jail to be hanged, my parents forced me out of the room.

5. Done!
Should Saddam Hussein's hanging be televised?

Yes 23%
No 77%

Total Votes: 87

Would you want to bet that the 20 people that voted yes are in the Bush Administration? Or Cheney and Rove went to 20 different computers and voted "Yes".......sick.

7. All executions should be televised
in the countries where they take place. Tax dollars pay for the courts, the police, and the executioner. The killing is done in our name. Why shouldn't we see the end result? Maybe people would rethink the death penalty if they saw an execution, maybe they wouldn't. Either way, we should see what we pay for.

It's barbaric. We're killing a man for killing!!?? Even if you can handle that I believe this "justice" is going to be a huge problem in Iraq right now. Why not keep everyone pacified with a continuation of trials for Saddam's other crimes. The Sunnis can be happy Saddam would then still be breathing and the Shia (SP?)happy he is being exposed more.

Lets go back to the days of having the people view death sentences. I'm confident it will be shown live in the arab world, public executions are not uncommon.

I'm not a supporter of death sentences, There may be some cases where they are justified, this may be one of them, I didn't write this as I believe this result is an excuse for the mess the USA is in with IRAQ. I wrote this as there may be some ( minor ) effect on the death sentences we give out too freely in many states in the USA

The hanging should be televised LIVE to the USA
