Remaining living presidents...
Edited on Wed Dec-27-06 01:12 AM by Bleachers7
I'm sure you all know this but here it is anyway...

39. Jimmy Carter
41. Bush Sr.
42. Bill Clinon
43. Jr.

We had 6 up until 1994. Then again in 2000.

There was no state funeral for Nixon. There was 30 years between state funerals. LBJ to Reagan. There will be 2 in 2+ years between 2004-2006 (Reagan and Ford).

5. The Frat Boy doesn't count
He didn't come in through the succession clause and he wasn't elected.

He isn't president.

6. I was wondering if Ford will have a state funeral.
I may actually shed a tear for Ford (I couldn't stomach Reagan's).

But I bet Ford would say we should all be watching the college football bowl season.

7. Do we know for sure that Ford ok'd a State funeral?
It's kind of up to the family- they are actually allowed to decline.
I wonder what they will do?

9. Ford requested a state funeral
Edited on Wed Dec-27-06 01:14 AM by Bleachers7
According to Wikipedia

The Military District of Washington, which oversees state funerals, retains the funeral plans written out by Ford prior to his death. Ford requested a state funeral and a burial in the courtyard of his presidential museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Services are likely to be held later this week.
