Poll question: Which One (Or More) Of These Fine Potential 2008 Dem Prez Candidates Have You Met?
I know the list is longer than this, so I posted the obligatory "other" option.
Not meaning to leave anyone out, or start any crap. I find myself having to leave out several I might consider:-(
I wish we could have polls with 15-20 options.

In person he was much better looking and less stiff than he used to seem on TV. And Wes Clark is REALLY hot.

3. John Kerry. Wonderful, charismatic guy.
Totally different than what I would have expected in July 2004, based on the media's caricature.

But by the time I first met him in Dec 2005, I'd figured out that was all a load of hooie anyway.

Great guy.

:toast:

(yeah we had that beer. :) )

7. Shook Kerry's hand November 1st, 2004
Day before the election.

Since then, some from the Kerry group have met him, and told him I started a prayer chain for him when he went to Iraq. So he knows of me as well.

12. Met Kerry a couple of times
Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 09:50 PM by rox63
Talked to him at some length. He's nothing like MSM portrays him, except for the fact that he is very intelligent. But he's also charismatic, funny, good-looking for a guy in his 60's, and wicked tall. :)

I also attended an Edwards event after he was the VP-nominee, but I didn't get to actually meet him. Couldn't get close enough to the front of the crowd.

26. I met Kerry and Teresa at the same time that GV speaks of
Both were incredibly nice, personable and funny. Teresa is far prettier than her pictures with a lovely smile that comes very easily and often. I saw Gore speak in 1992, but didn't really meet him.

22. I met Dennis Kucinich a few times when he's been in Colorado.
I met and talked with Elizabeth, also, and introduced her to some Indian women I brought along to speak with them about health care and Indian concerns.

I was taken with Elizabeth. Actually, I could talk easier with her than with Dennis.

I'd like to see Elizabeth in office! :)

24. Kucinich on two of his three trips to Minneapolis
When I moved to Minneapolis in 2003, I resolved that I would go hear every candidate who came to speak to the public. Until June of 2004, Kucinich was the only one who held free public rallies as opposed to fundraisers, so he was the only one I met.

He appeared to me with cherubs holding him up with flowing reems of positive polls by the corporate media.

Does that count?

28. I met Senator Kerry twice and I will always remember each of these meetings.
Each one was different, but very, very special. I had the honor of meeting his lovely wife also. They are genuine people, very warm and friendly and very down to earth. I even know people who had a beer with the senator. I haven't been that lucky, but you never know.

Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 11:29 PM by Auntie Bush
Does this count?

I was skiing at Stowe VT and pushed my friend aside so I'd be single and would have gone up the chair lift with Robert Kennedy. But... they stopped the chair lift and waited for Ethel to join him. Close but no cigars! Bummer!

Oh I forgot! I was inches (SS in between ) away from Nixon at the 1960 Olympics at Squaw Valley. At the time it was a thrill of a life time! Little did I know!

I'm a little off topic but...what the hell.

35. Hillary, Edwards, Gore, and Boxer
I met Hillary in Huntington WV in 96 just before Bill departed on his campaign train to take him to the convention in Chicago. Hillary appeared at Huntington but did not take the train. Somewhat reserved but cordial.
I had the pleasure to spend an evening with John and Elizabeth Edwards at the invitation of a mutual friend, this was right after John's election to the Senate. Several hours of long and interesting discussions two of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met and yet so down to earth. John Edwards will always get my support.
I met Al Gore at a private event and I have to agree that in person he comes across much better, his is not stiff as portrayed by the media and even has a good sense of humor. But only about 15 seconds face to face time, but impressed.
Senator Boxer I met at an event in San Francisco on 9/7/01, sorry but the events of the next week including trying to get home in all the chaos have caused specifics from that event to fade from this old mind of mine.
In the past I have met many Dem's Bill Clinton, John, Ted and Patrick Kennedy and many more. I have to get some of this down on paper before the melon turns to mush; if that were to happen I just might vote Rep.
