Records detail missing TSA badges, uniforms

Associated Press
SAN ANTONIO — More than 3,700 identification badges and uniform items have been reported lost or stolen from Transportation Security Administration employees since 2003, according to documents obtained by a San Antonio television station.

WOAI-TV received the documents under the Freedom of Information Act.

Los Angeles International Airport reported the most items with 636 missing uniforms. O'Hare International Airport in Chicago reported 189 missing badges.

Bush International Airport in Houston led Texas with 77 missing items. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport had about 40 items gone.

Security experts have said the badges and uniforms could pose a security threat if they end up in the wrong hands.

6. This is serious - our present government can't do anything right. There's no
accountability in any of the agencies since political cronies are running them and don't have a clue of what they're doing. recommended

Canada's 89 federal airports experienced a security surge this weekend after an investigation by CBC News found more than 1,000 uniforms and security badges from federal airport screeners had been lost or stolen during the first nine months of 2004.

8. Meanwhile, the Canadians let 250,000 get through
with little or no checks and nothing happens. Surprised?
