Climbing Mount 'General Discussion' in the state of DU, I got lost

I thought I was prepared. I had my dem voting guide, my no blood for oil shirt, a star by my name to guide me along, and some friends.

Somewhere along the climb a storm hit, a near white out.

Steve Irwin, Smoking, family size, Hillary, Obama, IWR, pretty teachers having sex with students, PETA, DLC, Iraq, impeachment, and it just kept getting harder and harder to see.

As I climbed further up, an avalanche hit me. I was buried. Alone. Scared.

And for but a brief moment the storm stopped. I heard shouts. Encouraging words. And digging, deep into the pockets of snow (and into the pockets of my fellow DU'ers).

I was found. I was rescued. I dusted off the snow, and looked around at all my friends here. The sun was shining, reflecting back at me the smiles of so many.

"You OK?"

"Yep. Thanks!"

And slowly we started to climb again. The wind picked up a little. And it began to snow.

Despite what goes on in threads, no matter how heated it may get - in the end, I am proud to share this big tent with you all.

Health care costs, since I smoke. And even worse, I work for a big corporation. Plus I drive an SUV - never mind it was my mom's and cost me nothing.

Plus, I pay taxes - which means I fund the war (unlike those with many kids who pay less taxes...).

I just need to surrender!
