Skinner, EarlG, Elad and all those that made this site available and possible back in early 2001, I must thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You saved my sanity.

You gave me a place to go to and let it all out.

You provided me a community of some of the sharpest and most informed folks in this nation.

You also provided a powerful contribution in preventing the closest slide to fascism our precious nation has ever experienced.

Everyone at the DU had a great part in the glorious victory on November 7th that will make this holiday season a more hopeful one.

Everyone of the DU'ers here need to give themselves credit for having made a world of difference.

I am proud to have personally gotten to know many of you face to face or by phone. Many of you are now friends. I am a lucky guy.

To any I have offended here with my know-it-all tone, I truly apologize and hope to work on that in the next year.

Yes, I will gush and gush too much tonight because...

I didn't find DU until after the 2004 election, but it's been a lifesaver and I count many people I've met through "the DU" (I love that!) among my best friends. I only wish we lived closer to each other.

11. I feel the same about this crazy site

We once felt like we were the only ones who saw this maladministration for what it is. I could post on here and realize that I wasn't alone. I miss some of the esoteric, intellectual conversations we all once had. The board moves too fast to keep those alive. I thank DU for keeping progressive voices alive and keeping us all sane. I also know personally that I would never had initially volunteered for campaigns unless I felt the peer pressure on this board. It's not only changed my life but I know I made a difference.
