There's no shopping going on in Denver today (gasp!)

Bushie will be disappointed in us!

Maybe some of these Playstation-loving shopping maniacs around here figured out what's really important, while they were trapped in their cars for 8 hours on the Boulder Turnpike.

Irony: The Flatirons Crossing shopping mall was used as a storm shelter last night. This mall was built on the site of a cattle ranch that was seized under imminent domain laws. Of course, the stores inside were closed, so no one could shop . . .

5. For every credit card that's not at its limit another soldier dies
The only way we can defeat these terrorists is by sucking it up and strapping on a dangerous amount of debt.

Americans who do not conspicuously consume or go into substantial debt are just giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

when rescuers tell folks they cannot unload all the presents from their cars to take to shelters with them?

Side note..
one Christmas we spent in Limon Colorado after a fierce snowstorm kept us from making it all the way to Kansas ..we drove (tried to) from Cheyenne, ahead of the storm, but it caught us :scared:

We ended up holed up in Limon with a bunch of roadweary travelers. Everyone finally made it out after the plows came trhough on Christmas day.

8. People in Limon are great to stranded travelers
They understand how you can go from clueless complacency to stark raving fright for your life in a very short time, on the roads out here. Most of the time it is sunny and dry, but once in a while . . . nature in Colorado gives you a come to Jesus moment and you just never know when it might happen.

10. You are so right. there were some older ladies
who came to where we were and brought thermoses full of coffee & cocoa and brought us kids coloring books & pillows..& cookies & sandwiches..

We ended up spending about a day & a half there and the people were wonderful..

After that, every time we passed through Limon, we would always stop for a meal there..(spread a little cash in the town )
