Everyone in Denver get to work ok?
I just went out to get some supplies for the next few days and the roads are horrible, even with snow tires. This is bad because apparently the storm has only just started. They're saying 2 feet, which actually means anywhere from 1 to 3 feet by tomorrow. It's lucky I don't have to drive until Saturday.

Stay safe Denverites!

I don't expect to go to work tomorrow either. It's been a while since we had a snow day. :)

2. Live in Denver work out in foothills...
I was planning to go in late morning anyway after meeting in town, but called to find the office had already closed. Schools closed all over Metro Denver and the hardest part of storm coming in this afternoon. So, those at work might just want to head home soon.. I'm heading out shortly to run last minute errands, but I'm staying close to home. This is a wet dumper, which does mean big accumulations. My subie continues to do ok--but we'll see.

4. Sitting here at my PC in Denver
I work from home (market research consulting). I live in the Hilltop neighborhood. I just looked outside - a real blizzard. My husband and two girls - we'll stick it out at home. Sledding set for later this afternoon if the wind subsides a bit.

They say 2 feet? My bet is well over 2 feet by Thursday noon.

You stay safe too!

5. Hope the mountains are getting a serious dumper and it's not
just the Front Range/upslope stuff.

6. Took the bus this morning from Conifer in to Denver.
By the time I got here, the office had closed (when the schools close, we're closed), but now I can't get home until the first bus leaves for the mountains at 3:30. Downtown Denver is experiencing a white out right now -- but it's still beautiful!

8. 5 feet would mean this'll be my first xmas home alone
That would suck.

Local news still says 24", maybe the 5' figure was for the mountains?

11. They mentioned Denver; if I hear any updates, I'll post. And
for your sake, I hope that doesn't happen. Also said this snowfall could be the biggest (1 of 5 storms) in Denver's history.

24. So far, local news is sticking with two feet max for the metro area.
Up in the mountains and in some southern areas of the state, it will be five feet, I'm sure. MKJ

9. Talked to a guy down there a couple hours ago. He said that
you could barely see across the street at that time and he was worried as to whether or not he could get home from work.

In Omaha, NE. We haven't had a lick of snow yet this winter. It's scary.

13. Congrats on the White Christmas!
I hope y'all are staying inside and keeping warm. Don't get out if you don't have to.

As an aside - I'm in Atlanta right now and wearing a short sleeved t-shirt. I mean, really. I love the warmth. I really do. I live for summers, but this is getting ridiculous. Yesterday, I left for work with a wet head. December 19th and you can go outside with a wet head.

No such thing as global warming....sure....

14. I work from home also.
Having a hard time keeping focused today. I keep going to different windows to check the snow. In a little while I'm going to have to shovel a path for the dogs in the backyard.

17. White out from my window
Hubby and I expect to stay in and wait it out. Luckily we don't need to be anywhere. I am in the foothills, Lakewood/Golden area. I remember the dumper we had a few years back, we were without power for a few days. I am hoping the power stays up, but have the lamps and candles out just in case...gonna dig out the wooly blankets.

19. I'm in Hilltop, checking back in.
I work from home. The snow is coming down so hard that I can't see beyond our front yard.

Cherry Creek Mall has just closed as have several Targets. Everyone is going home.

Two feet? I'd bet that's conservative, because the snow is supposed to continue nonstop through tomorrow morning.

It's already at 12" here in East Denver and the storm just started.

21. I've been watching the CODOT web cams
Heavy snow across the state, and there are people driving in this, in the mountains! They've either got some huge brass ones or they're just incredibly stupid. We've had a tremendous rain storm here, I have to think that if this had came when I was a kid we would be buried in snow.

NY here and I gardened today, breaking a sweat in a tee shirt and shorts. Unreal.

Best to all of you there in Denver!

23. Hubby went to work, agaist my objections. We live in Denver, he works in Lafayette.
He insisted on staying at work, in spite of my repeated pleas to leave.

I went to work, about 15 miles away (his is 25 miles) and basically turned around and came home.

Please send good thoughts his way, as he sits on 287 in gridlock, with the driving conditions getting worse by the minute. MKJ

25. Wishing you and him the best.
I'm at home in central Denver (about 1 mile from Cherry Creek mall), and the stuff just keeps coming down. Nonstop since about 7 am.

We've got at least 12 more hours of this. Two feet sounds conservative.

30. He got home about 6:30 PM left work at 1:00 PM. 5 hours to go 25 miles.
I made sure that he had a hot meal and cold drink waiting when he came home. (he'd do the same for me).

I'm safe and sound with my family tonight....it's a good thing and thanks for your good thoughts. :hi: MKJ

26. Our branch out there shut down. Right in the middle of Christmas rush
They print Christmas bulletins for churches. They wanted us to take up the slack, but we're neck deep in work as well.

26 inches they tell us here. Holy crap.

29. Shovelled 3 times already
Fortunately, today was supposed to be my last day until next Tuesday so I called in. As of 4pm, it's getting harder to drive and more cars are starting to get into accidents. The snow is still coming down but the power is still on.

Keep warm y'all.
