Does Mccain have a behavior problem?
Edited on Wed Dec-20-06 11:20 AM by bluedeminredstate
that he can't control? I ask because there was a thread yesterday that had a post in it which referred to his "laughing fits" - the kind that aren't appropriate to the situation from what I could gather.

I did a search on DU but couldn't find anything else about this. Does anyone know about these episodes, and if so can you tell me what it is exactly he does and when he's done it. I'm fascinated that this isn't general information if true. I mean Kerry makes a mess of a joke and the press is ready to call him a hater-of-troops-and-all-things-military, and McCain may have a problem controlling his behavior appropriately which would have huge diplomatic implications among other things and it's all quiet on the '08 front.
What's up? Is this really going on?

1. Not sure about laughing fits, but he does have a bad temper.
I remember Newsweek published an article about it during the 2000 primary campaign, titled (IIRC) Senator Hothead.

Maybe he is just like the chimp, and has problems controlling anger and laughing.

14. That's what I'd call it. During his last nod to honesty in 1999, he wrote that
during the Vietnam reconciliation efforts led by Sen. Kerry, he almost brokedown at several points, but Kerry kept him calmed and talked him through his near-breakdowns.

I doubt there is any honesty left in McCain at this point. But, I imagine the audio version of that chapter would be a great boon to Sen. Kerry and the Democrats.

9. I remember reading that yesterday too
Didn't have time to research it.
Wasn't one of the things * used against him in the '00 primary was that he was mentally unbalanced and prone to outbursts of anger? I know * said a lot of real nasty stuff about him and his family and it's hard to believe that all could be forgiven so easily and written off as 'just politics'. Just something majorly wrong about that.

10. Yes! McCain 'The Monster'
This is how the Democrats should paint McCain in 2008.
Tie him sooo tight to W he cannot breathe and warn the American public that McCain is just the same as W pretended to be in 2000.
Use the clip of W saying "fool me once fool me twice" etc that he gets wrong in Fahrenheit 911. Tell the voters that they MUST NOT be fooled again.
Show pictures ot McCain hugging W, eating cake smiling etc when New Orleans drowned. Music "What's that coming over the hill is it a monster?"
The Democrats need to get in and smear and attack McCain or any other GOP nominee and make sure the voters NEVER forget they were fooled by the GOP in 2000 and the consequences of this have been horrific!
Show that picture of him looking insane and play it up. The Democrats cannot allow the GOP to come to them with the fight (i.e. Kerry and the GOP Swift Boats 2008), the gloves must come off this time!!

13. The fact that he could still kiss W.'s butt after the horrible...
things Bush and Rove have done to him ("Would you vote for John McCain if you knew he had an illegitimate black child?") indicates that his presidential ambitions veer off into the neighborhood of "dangerous."

I can't trust someone who would allow themselves to be humiliated the way he has, just for possible political gain.
