Sen-Elect Webb: Bush "Is A Failed President"
Webb slams Bush's actions in Iraq war
The senator-elect confirms an icy incident with president but maintains he's willing to work with him.
BY DAVID LERMAN
December 20, 2006

WASHINGTON -- Virginia Sen.-elect Jim Webb said President Bush is a "failed president" who should use his last two years in office to repair America's image abroad by ending the Iraq war through intensive diplomacy.

In an interview Tuesday with the Daily Press, Virginia's newly elected Democratic senator made clear his antipathy toward Bush and his determination to help set a new course in Iraq.

Webb, an early and outspoken critic of the Iraq war, ousted Republican Sen. George Allen last month by a razor-thin margin that tipped control of the U.S. Senate to Democrats. A decorated Vietnam veteran and former Navy secretary, Webb has a 24-year-old son now serving in Iraq as a Marine.

"He's a failed president," Webb said, when asked what he thinks of Bush. "He has two years to try to show some true leadership when it comes to rehabilitating the image of the United States around the world.

49. Yes...
... but it's amazing how few Dems will tell it like it is.

He may be preaching to the choir here, but for a lot of America, he's pointing out a FACT they are not hearing as much as they should.

53. They can learn now
but if Webb spends more than one term in the Senate he'll start double talking like the rest of them. John Kerry's biggest obstacle to higher office was and remains that he's spent too much time talking Senate Speak, a language designed to obfuscate the facts with trivia. That's why Kerry didn't come out and say he refused to support legislation that was not responsible to the American taxpayer. Senators debate trivia; leadership requires different skills. Let's hope Webb runs for President before his mind turns to other pursuits in the Senate.

27. New rising
star of the democratic party. I would rather see him run in
'08 than Obama. Character is the most important quality for
me. The fact that he is a writer is a plus. The creative
voices have taken the place of religious leaders. Not putting
down religion...but so many of the popular religious leaders
are KKK..kinda' tarnishes the whole group.'Esp the warmonger
aspect of today's religion.

Here goes another Democrat denouncing their duty to uphold, defend, and protect the Constitution of the United States of America by claiming that it is the President that needs to clean up his mess.

Yes, Mr. Webb, this IS a failed President because Congress FAILED AMERICA and allowed this President to become a failure through a severe lack of oversight. And Mr. Webb, you were elected to go in and do your job and hold this run-away President responsible for becoming uncontrollably FAILED. Failure of doing that very job is why were have this mess.

Abdication of one's job is a sure sign that they are unfit for duty.

This President has committed crimes. Crimes against America, Her Constitution, Her people, Her treasury. Crimes against other Nations by deliberately lying about a need to use terroristic tactics to 'shock-and-awe' groups of people into submission, illegally occupying other Nations so as to pillage their natural resources, torture-rendition-hold indefinitely innocent people, all because 'you can'.

For Webb to suggest that the President clean up his act is foolish. A criminal will never voluntarily change their ways. They need to be forced to change.

At the very least, Webb could suggest that this President go to rehab.

I believe that Webb's leadership qualities will inspire (some) other Dems to stand up and be more outspoken. I'm looking forward to the CSPAN coverage this Congressional session, but we'll have to suffer the freeper's heads exploding on Washington Journal (they tend to spew all kinds of green matter--lord knows they are short on the gray matter:D)
