Kristol: We havnt been attacked in 5 years.

Jon: We were not attacked from 1993 till 2001 = 8 years, so Clinton gets more credit

Kristol: Well the embassy bombings...

Jon: So you want to go internetational? How about Madrid, London, they are really active.

2. I'm loving it!
And Kristol is not being gracious in the least - whimpering about how The Daily Show only has him on as a punching bag every couple of months. What a WIMP - just like the rest of the posturing neo-con Paper Tigers. They can destroy reputations and create their own reality but they squeal like stuck pigs when it's time to pay the piper. God bless this period of awakening for the American Populace! This time, don't let the right wing nutcase leaders slip into the woodwork as they did after Nixon's resignation.

got us in this mess....he along with the other should be prosecuted for high crimes against the United States...

these guys have the damn nerve to whine about getting their ass kicked on a talk show.....when our men and women are laying down their lives every minute of everday fighting this mismanaged war........

Sorry...not venting at you....just the ridiculousness of this whole thing...

7. I would bet Jon is upset about all the death and destruction
the war has caused. He just seems to be that type of person, not the "I'm rich and on TV, it can't touch me, la la la..." type.

9. Bull Kristol might be an arrogant asshole...
But I give him credit for doing something like going on The Daily Show. He's still responsible for his terrible views, but at least he will debate them on their merits, rather than hiding in his White House. He's still wrong, but he's better than Bush.

OMG. I just saw a Fox News commercial, with Cavuto, Hume, and Gibson talking up how fair and balanced they are. Made me laugh.

14. IMO, BS, Kristol should be more despised for being one of the first
rats to jump ship. He's the kind of brown nosing subordinate that will mire down into the mud and emerge with contradictory points to save his own reputation.

Beware of the polished right wingers for they are the ones that are the future ghouls who will rise up 20 years from now trying to "pull off" the same Authoritarian, One Party take over of our country. I use this term rarely but IMO, the Powerful Neo-Cons are PURE EVIL and should not be granted any altruistic credit. There's always a hidden agenda for those in power within the fringes of the right wing, religious undertones or not. :(

Kristol could not sell me a pack of bubble gum, much less tempt me to believe that he may be acknowledging true mistakes. They were caught in gut-wrenching defeat and are merely trying to survive.

Edited on Tue Dec-19-06 11:35 PM by Canuckistanian
Un-credited (and unindicted) leader of the PNAC crew.

Whatever happens in Iraq can all be attributed to him.

11. Well, I feel a need to suggest that "The Prince of Darkness"
a.k.a. Richard Pearle, was the Neo-con who clutched with Rumsfeld, et. al. in the bowels of the Pentagon, i.e., Defense Policy Board. Pearle helped this Insane Clown Posse of powerful Neo-Cons realize the Iraqi invasion and occupation, while Kristol, like his predecessor Goebbels, spoon fed the masses their talking points via his "Weakly Standard" rag. :(

There are a handful of powerful Neo-Cons who should be indicted for crimes against humanity and IMO, treason (lying to the American people and attempting to realize Authoritarian, One Party Rule).

I hope and pray that the present membership comprising the "Joint Chiefs of Staff" realize that they swore an oath to defend and uphold The Constitution of the United States (Not Emperor wannabe GW Bush) against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. Hope springs eternal that the military and our Congress will find their spine and declare "No More!"

His father was, after all, the "founding father" of neoconservatism.

He was a blabbering idiot who could barely form a sentence. At least he spoke clearly tonite.

And then remember when he was on Colbert and Stephen asked how that whole PNAC thing was going?

Last time was his "Iraq" visit
This time was his "Iran" visit
Next time? Maybe his "Syria" visit...

At least in this case it's kristol himself being fed into the woodchipper. I'll watch as long as the idiot is stupid enough to keep showing up.

30. that was a great show....Kristol even admitted that he could "tell the truth,"
because he was in New York, and NOT in DC!

there was LOTS of play on that appearance

did Stewart ask him if he was telling the truth again this time, or anything along those lines?

19. Kristol ALWAYS looks like he fears an impending asskicking...
he constantly has that nervous eyes/tight smile "Please don't hurt me!" combo just like an 8 year who is about to meet his destiny on the playground. Probably actually happened to him a lot as a kid.
Too bad no one ever finished him off back then.

23. Exactly
How many times to you think young Billy spent the lunch period shut in a locker? I bet he sees the troops whose death he so strongly pushes for as standins for the jocks who picked on him in middle school.

28. Lots of people have rough childhoods
Few have the kind of wealth and privilege that young Billy had. The fact that he couldn't do anything with his life but become a neocon dog turd is his to own.

20. Kristol is such a fool. The fact that he continues to have such a media presence
simply baffles me. I know he represents the view of people in power, but Christ- eventually even a fool has to say to himself, "I've been wrong about EVERYTHING".

I love Jon...Kristol says calling Rumsfelled a great Sec. of D. was one of Cheney's few mistakes, Jon said something to the effect that he can't remember anything Cheney said that WASN'T a mistake - "he shot a guy in the face" for God's sake.

I wonder why Kristol goes on, Jon is way smarter than him...
