Poll question: Do you agree with this quote?
Edited on Mon Dec-18-06 07:10 PM by WI_DEM
"If I could work my will, every idiot who goes about with 'Merry Christmas' on his lips, should be boiled in his own pudding, and burned with a stake of holly through his heart."

1. Words are flexible
Let the word Xmas mean whatever you want it to mean. And context is everything. If someone approaches you with a big infectious grin and wishes you a Merry Xmas wish it back right at them. But if someone wishes you a Merry Xmas with a suspicious look and watches for your response then let them have a Happy Holidays and stare them down.

4. You got baited into the "WAR ON CHRISTMAS". Really it doesn't
matter what someone says to ya..as long as they mean it with good cheer.

5. No. Do you agree with these quotes?
  • #1 "If you stand up for Christmas, they come after you"

  • #2 "The war on Christmas is worse than I thought -- and perhaps than you thought, because it's really a war on Christianity."

  • #3 "Secular progressives realize that America as it is now will never approve of gay marriage, partial birth abortion, euthanasia, legalized drugs, income redistribution through taxation, and many other progressive visions because of religious opposition. But if the secularists can destroy religion in the public arena, the brave new progressive world is a possibility. That's what happened in Canada."

  • #4 "Many liberals purposely disregard and disrespect our nation's religious heritage so they can bring about their own Godless version of this nation. But their vision is deceitful and fraudulent."

    6. I like it. But I would change it from anyone who says "Merry Christmas"
To anyone who speaks to me period.

    8. Surely boiling and burning are mutually exclusive.
Perhaps he should pick one or the other, or maybe alternate or something.

    9. But I do like the book the quote comes from,
    and what happens to Scrooge.
