After "broken TV sets, windows and other calamaties," Nintendo replaces Wii wrist straps
NYT: December 15, 2006
Wii Have a Replacement
By Tom Zeller Jr.

Nintendo said today that it will replace some 3.2 million wrist straps on its popular Wii computer game controllers. This comes after a deluge of reports that the Wii Remote — a signature game controller that responds to users’ body movements — was slipping from users’ hands and coming untethered from their wrists, resulting in broken TV sets, windows and other calamities.

Users will be able to exchange the thin strap for a beefier strap, according to the Associated Press: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061215/ap_on_hi_te/japan_nintendo_recall.

Information on the replacement program can be found at the Nintendo website: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/strapreplace.jsp.

users of the Wii can't even hold on to a piece of plastic and coordinate themselves at the same time.

It's fucking PATHETIC!
