Why did Zogby ask me so many questions about Bethlehem
in Israel? I'm probably one of the few that has had an opportunity to be there years ago; the first question I answered is 'what state am I from'? I live in TX; all of a sudden I get questions about Bethlehem? And is a wall a worthy 'thing' to provide? What are the percentages of Muslims, Christians, etc.? I live in Texas so thought the poll was b.s. If results are judged from my answers, or anyone's in TX with less knowledge than I have, it's criminal.
We are talking about and deciding if A WALL would be handy there; every answer I could provide was to deter a wall, because I don't know that they've (walls) ever been effective long-term.

I do not like walls.

1. I got the Zogby poll too; I'm from California and the questions were the same
It always really makes me curious as to who is asking these questions (i.e. who commissioned the poll) and why. You learn things just from the questions.

Very interesting -- I didn't know the Israelis were planning to put up a wall -- and I don't like walls either. However my antennae really went up at the questions about Christians and "defending" Christian communities around the world, especially in Bethlehem. Who do you think wants to know American public opinion on that issue? Neocons and their ultra-fundy cohorts?

My personal belief is we should encourage religious freedom elsewhere as at home, but on a general basis. There are Christians settling in Israel and proselytizing (or rather doing good works in lieu of proselytizing) while awaiting the Rapture, which doesn't please the Jews all that much. I have not heard any indication that the Christians are being threatened in any way, however, and it's not the business of the USA to get involved in that.

Makes me wonder, Babylon Sister.

3. Lots of Christians vs. Muslims, RE: Bethlehem, but how am
I supposed to know that? They received quite a few 'not sure''s from me. And that's all I did, Hekate, answer honestly. Yes, I've been there; yes, I'd go back; yes, that would depend on the security of the country; yes, I'd go for the history and not the religion.
To me, religion is like sex. Whatever you do is your own business. Let's just enjoy life and not judge each other for these two issues.

4. I got all the questions about Bethlehem too.
Was also asked my opinion on the state of Oklahoma. I told them I lived in Colorado. I think they were just standard questions given to everybody on that poll, along with the NASCAR questions.

I think they just like asking strange and inscrutable questions.

5. Yeah, it was a pretty bizarre grouping
I answered that I didn't like walls but have no intention of visiting the area under any circumstances. Just no interest for me.

7. Zogby usually throws political / policy questions into every poll..
They also poll for a lot of companies & organizations. I've completed numerous polls which mostly contained questions unrelated to politics. My assumption is that this poll was being done for some organization or entity with an interest in Bethelem, including tourism.

I usually enter 'not sure' on those types of questions, unless I happen to have an opinion. (BTW, the first thing that came to mind when I read 'Oklahoma' was 'musical' lol.

17. I know that entities hire Zogby to poll about products and
places (tourist bureaus). That one felt like it came from some Israeli tourist entity.

This morning's Zogby poll asked me about baseball....about which I know nothing.
