That makes me feel a lot better. Good work by the Senate doc and GWU Hospital team. Saved him and the Senate and probably the country!

14. Its shameful that Republicans put partisan politics above the well
being of a Senate colleague..It was worse than third world politics the way Republicans and the right wing media was rejoicing at the possibility of regaining control of the Senate. This was disgraceful

18. Of course it was, but we have to rejoice! It is our Christmas miracle, so to speak
Isn't it wonderful? Why aren't you rejoicing? Everything is going to be OK and we will have the Democratic Senate majority.

So Hallelujah and amen!

20. At the rsk of raising an unpleasand prospect,
We pray that the Senator makes a full recovery and goes on to make a big contribution in the next session. However, this has shone the light on the fact that our future very well could depend on a single heartbeat: Johnson's or the heartbeat of any of 50 other Senators.

As a matter of fact, this is a world where people like Putin are perfectly happy to poison their opponents when that enhances their power. Somebody also did the same to Arafat, although the whole world has apparently agreed not to state the obvious. I guess we were all just happy to see him gone any old way.

I do hope that any Senators from states where Republican would prosper by their demise are taking the strongest possible precautions.
