Here's a question I just came across on the Zogby poll. RE: war:
:wow:

What is the main reason you believe it has not been worth the loss of American lives?

1. President Bush lied to get us into the war
2. The U.S. entered the war pre-emptively without provocation
3. U.S. leaders have mismanged the war
4. Too many U.S. soldiers have been killed
5. There is no clear plan for victory - we seem to be making no headway
6. The Iraqis won't ever be ready to take over the security of their country, and there seems to be no end in sight to the war
7. Not sure
8. Other-Specify

:wow:

3. Excellent list Sis, but on the top of my list of answers to your great question
BUSH LET THE ATTACKS ON SEPTEMBER 11TH HAPPEN ON PURPOSE BECAUSE HE NEEDED A TERRORIST ATTACK TO CARRY OUT HIS WORTHLESS PLANS. And his plans like him, are a complete and total failure.

6. Help me out
I don't quite understand what you mean. bush wanted to go to war in Iraq so he disregarded warnings of a terrorist attack knowing that such an event would sway public opinion to whatever an insane "war president" wanted to do. Our kids should not be in Iraq let alone dying there. george bush and the pnac and his supporters have everything to do with the Iraq War. Please share with me a differing thought. Our incursion into Iraq was to fight terrorism? to get WMD? to stay the course? to not embarrass an asshole who now knows he made a wrong decision? to secure oil fields? to carry out the directives of cheney's energy task force? to spread democracy throughout the middle east?

7. The cost-benefit value of an action
is not related to the reasons that action was undertaken. Iraq is a failure because of what happened in Iraq, not what happened in New York City two years prior. And if you're looking to find the reasons why the war was a failure, the events of 9/11 are equally unrelated.

8. Would you agree
there would be no War in Iraq if there were no terrorist attack on September 11th (and george bush had not been president?) We are in Iraq because bush manipulated 9-11. I see a definite relationship between September 11th and the War and our kids are needlessly dying there and back to the original question that is my number one reason for disdain. Nothing relative to our Army or Marine Corps would have happened in Iraq if it had not been for the crass political use of a tragic event.

4. What a list of choices
That's not like the polls were just a few months ago. The times really are changing.

9. You'd have to go with "other"
Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 04:40 PM by AnnInLa
Then write in "all of the above".......plus, the neocon plan for democratizing the ME, without taking into account religion and culture and history was totally BOGUS. (well, use another word for bogus)

I do Zogby's polls online, and sure wonder about the educational level of the persons who write these questions.....they seem as naive as this war was.
