Is there any doubt after Pickles's remarks that she and George are practiced liars?

She says it's all the fault of media coverage that Americans are opposing her husband in overwhelming majorities on the Iraq occupation.

"I understand why those polls are like that because of the coverage we see every single day on Iraq and it is not encouraging coverage for sure," she told Norah O'Donnell. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8004316/)

The occupation is a disaster. THAT's why the coverage isn't 'encouraging', not because there's some alternate reporting that would show some sort of "progress" in Iraq. Her husband tried to con voters into believing there was "progress" taking place there. He's now arguing on the other side, about dangers in Iraq that would justify leaving our troops in place, or for increasing the force as his Pentagon 'study group' will reportedly propose.

There are republican senators in Iraq today who are reporting that Iraq is, in fact, a bloody disaster.

There was just a bipartisan report from the Baker group which called the situation in Iraq, "grave."

Apparently everyone except the Bushes believe our troops are in a devastating quagmire, and have enough integrity to say so. The Bushes are convinced all they have to do is lie, like they've done all along, and folks will buy their bullshit . . . like they've done all along. I think their game is up. Fool folks once . . . shame . . .

15. Yeah, that's why we lost in Vietnam, too.

I don't think it's in their mental makeup to put blame where it belongs - on their shoulders.

Ego maniacs are like that - things are NEVER their fault.

This does not mean they're not filthy liars though.. they're both liars and psychos

9. Why doesn't she
take a tour of Iraq, outside the green zone, and photograph and narrate all of the wonderful things that are happening? That way, she can see for herself, and show the American people just how swimmingly things are going. Naturally, since Iraq is in such a state of liberated bliss, she need not be heavily escorted, for that would only foster an impression that things in Iraq are going downhill fast.

No, let's rely on nothing but her dear Georgie's word, and Cheney's growls, that things are great! :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: After all, Laura has many important things to do right now what preclude her from going herself. After the slight embarrassment of having three other women show up at a party wearing the same dress, Laura has plans to secretly visit Walmart for her Christmas functions, assured that no other woman in the room will be wearing the same outfit.

Bush Is Racking Up "Frequent Liar Miles"
Friday, 17 January 2003
Dennis Hans

Strategy of "lie and rely" relies on media to disseminate Dubya’s deceptions

Lyndon Johnson is remembered for lying about Vietnam, Richard Nixon for lying about Watergate, Bill Clinton for lying about adultery. George W. Bush is known as a “straight shooter.”

What’s wrong with that picture? Bush has, after all, racked up more “frequent liar miles” than any other politician in recent memory.

Not familiar with “frequent liar miles”? I coined the expression to pay tribute to the staying power of Bush’s lies. After all, a lie is of no use to the teller if it is promptly branded a lie and the teller a liar. Not only does he not benefit from the lie, his now-tarnished image makes it more difficult to get anyone to believe subsequent lies.

...

In stunning contrast, Bush’s lies are broadcast as truth. They originate at the White House and are transmitted to network amplification centers in New York and Washington, at which point the lie leaves the president’s control. He then must rely on men named Brokaw, Jennings, Rather and Lehrer to treat the presidential lie with respect and deliver it to every nook and cranny in America via “the people’s airwaves.” The longer and farther the lie flies, the more “frequent liar miles” the president accumulates.

...

Little King George has received infinitely too much unquestioned and improper support from the media over his terms as President (and before as well, which in part accounts for the fact he even managed to get him within ten to fifteen points of Gore such that the Republican Electronic & Dirty Tricks Electoral Advantage Program was almost able to make him the winner of that contest). Don't be fooled either, he continues to benefit from an enormous amount of credulous, conspiratorial support and promotion from the media, despite the fact that, in deference to known public opinion, they're willing to be somewhat critical of him with respect to the "war" (occupation).

The media remains a problem and a threat, perhaps the biggest, to the health of this country's continued Democracy; media reform (by means of breaking up the Corporate oligopoly that is limiting our access to information) is one of our greatest needs. We need to know what our government--and it's Corporate controllers--are doing and without a functioning, independent media, we'll just continue being kept in the dark while being presented with a false, misleading description of reality (that supports the agenda of those whose interests do not include what's best for the people of this country).
