Interesting tidbit just shared to me about china-mart...
Once upon a time china-mart would do their TV marketing via a company called GSDM in Austin. Well, china-mart wanted to go in new and weirder direction. So they canned GSDM and went with another company to try and promote their newer hip image. Well, they failed. Miserably.
So, they come back to GSDM, and because they are the worlds largest department store who can buy and sell your soul if they wanted to, thought, because they were just so enormous, that GSDM would take them back in a heartbeat. WRONG! GSDM has shown that they have integrity!!
They told china-mart to take a walk.

People the corps are waking up.

1. a marketing firm turned Wal-Mart down? Wow
That really is admirable, if they did it for reasons of integrity and not because Wal-Mart is more trouble as a client than it's worth (and since it's worth a lot, I'm willing to believe it's the former reason). I can imagine Wal-Mart being a bit of a prima donna client, paying a fee below the industry standard just because it's... well, because it's Wal-Mart and it can do anything it wants.

4. I'm sure there are lots of other PR firms lining up to take the contract.
I really hate Wal_Mart and all it stands for. Such megalo-corporatism will one day crumble under the strain of higher and higher transportation costs and labor dissatisfaction. It will won't it?
