Is There Any News On Senator Johnson, And Whatever It Was That Made Him Fall Ill?
Lots of conflicting reports, stroke, no, not a stroke, heart attack, no, not a heart attack, etc.
Still, this morning, I see no news on this. Is this being kept secret? Is it just a matter of privacy?
Do they really not know what happened? I'm just asking here, and I think Sen. Johnson will be o.k. It's just a feeling I have.

5. I suspect we'll find out today.
In all likelihood, his docs will hold a press conference, explaining his illness, procedures undertaken, current condition and prognosis. That's usually the way these things work. Patience. He fell ill less than 24 hours ago.

6. Nobody's saying yet.
They're keeping it mum. We'll just have to wait to find out if it was stroke, heart attack, etc.

7. No one incident made him ill
Arteries collect sticky plaque

Bits can break off and block blood flow to the brain, hence TIAs

or stroke-like symptoms

3. I have that feeling, too.
When somebody first comes out of a serious surgery, they're always listed as "critical". After the first 48 hours, the picture becomes much clearer. I'm optimistic.

4. CNN reporting now. He had brain surgery last night and is currently

in critical condition (I suspect that's par for the course after this kind of surgery). I still haven't heard what initiated the surgery as I read he didn't have a stroke or heart attack. An aneurysm has been suggested. CNN now speculating a brain hemmorage. Stay tuned.

Update: Per CNN, surgery was a success. Docs will be talking to the media shortly.

8. TIAs don't necessarily require surgery
suspect they did an MRI and found a bleed or aneurysm of some
kind that needed immediate repair.

9. CNN's calling it a stroke caused by a hemorrage.
An update from the hospital is due in a few minutes. CNN's doctor (can't spell his name) just said a recovery will take months.

10.  The senator had brain surgery.
I don't think we can speculate that it was surgery on the carotid artery (I know no one in this thread has said that -- but I think it has been brought up) because that would involve the neck, not the brain.

I am, however speculating maybe an aneurysm or blood clot. My sons friend was diagnosed with an aneurysm with a blood clot inside it. He had a stroke-like episode that lead to his diagnosis. It was repaired with a procedure that fell under brain surgery.

I will be very anxious to hear what has really happened to the senator, and will be praying for his speedy recovery.

11. My MIL Had "Stroke-Like Symptoms"
About two months ago, she experienced loss of feeling in certain parts of her body and we rushed her to the hospital. She was found to have ruptured a small blood vessel in her brain that caused the stroke-like symptoms...she was unable to speak properly and walk. Fortunately she didn't need surgery, but it was a close call as the vessel was small and able to heal on its own, but its been slow going. She's recovered her ability to speak and walk and we're hoping she'll be able to go home after the first of the year. It was a big scare, but since it was caught early and she was in the care of very capable neurologists who were able to diagnose her condition and treat it properly. I have confidence the same is happening for Senator Johnson.

Truth is, we don't know and the longer it takes for something to come out, but these situations can be very fluid for 24 to 48 hours...especially if there's emergency surgery involved. Yes, there is need to be concerned as any brain injury is serious and there's no template on how people come back after having any type of brain surgery. All we can do is wait, and for who feel the need to pray, go for it.

Sorry to poop on the tin foil hatters here, but this wasn't an assasination plot. Sheesh...someone's watching too much 24 around here. It's probably being "kept secret" as his situation still hasn't been fully determined...and that the full story will be forthcoming.

I'm encouraged since I'm not hearing that he has or is in a coma. Also, if this were as sinister as some here believe, I'm sure Faux would already by trumpeting the return of a Repugnican "majority" in the Senate with little regard to Senator Johnson's situation.
