I posted a few days ago that I would be away for a few days while I obtained some much needed rest. Just had to take a break from it all. I lurked to read the DU Headlines and stumbled across the following:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2908257 How can I rest while those we are trying to bring home are facing such vile, disgusting horrors in Iraq? How can anyone?
The break helped tremendously. I advise anyone who may becoming too depressed to take a break, but come back quickly and keep up the fight. You are here because you care, demonstrate the caring by taking it out beyond these pages. It does help to discuss everything here, but don't use up all your talent on the choir.
As I said a few days ago, don't forget to carry your words outside of DU. Lets compile a list of actions that we can take:
1. Write your newspapers
2. Call the media
3. Talk to your neighbors
4. Talk to people in stores and at the gas pumps
5. Attend your Democratic meetings
6. Spread the word through the internets - there are a ton of chat rooms, pop in and mention DU ask them to get off their duffs and do something!
7. Organize a trip to DC for the 27th of January
8. Design and print out posters against the war
9. Explain to people why they need to be involved
10. Contact your representatives
11. Run for office
12. Campaign for those who want this war to STOP!
13. Support progressive musicians
14. Tell people you read it in the underground - the Democratic Underground (more people need to read the REAL NEWS)
15. Send emails to all those annoying people who email you about things that don't matter!
Let's see if we can come up with no less than 100 items of action we can take to get them home! Then, lets act on the items! Don't stop except for taking that momentary break. Together we can get those troops home where they belong!
Edited for poor grammar - sue me!
