Ahh, memories... 11/05 Plan For Victory.
Remember the "trident" logo? "Plan For Victory" Whatever happened with this plan?

This logo creeped me out. It reminds me of the onscreen graphics for one of those christian TV channels.

1. Annapolis, right?
Trident = Neptune/Poseidon = sea.

Pretty predictable iconography. And dates from 1899, so it's not a subliminal shout-out to the Taliban wing of the GOP.

As Freud said 'Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.'

2. From that plan . . .(my comments in parens)
"The United States has no intention of determining the precise form of Iraq's new government.

(but haven't we stated it was going to be a democracy?)

That choice belongs to the Iraqi people.

(or at least those who are not Bathists, Sunnis, etc.)

Yet, we will ensure that one brutal dictator is not replaced by another.

(even if it means that we take on that role ourselves)

All Iraqis must have a voice in the new government,

(sometimes it just might be a scream in pain, a wail in anguish, or a cry in the wilderness)

and all citizens must have their rights protected.

(course that dog don't seem to hunt in the US anymore)

Rebuilding Iraq will require a sustained commitment from many nations,

(course all of 'em are now starting to choose up sides in the civil war)

including our own:

(see Dick and George own stock in the rebuilding contractors so pony up America)

we will remain in Iraq as long as necessary, and not a day more."

(oops)
